Purpose of Mission’s Ministry
The purpose of the Mission’s ministry in this church is to glorify God by going and making disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything Jesus has commanded us to do.
Responsibilities
Leadership
- In alignment with the vision of the Senior Pastor and the Ministerial Staff, provides the overall vision and direction for all missional endeavors.
- Coordinate all missional activities and mission partners of the church, including organizing all mission trips, events, and activities of the church.
- Leads the strategic initiative to share the gospel from the Neighborhoods to the Nations
- Leads a prayerful focus of the missional activities and mission partners of the church.
- Functions as the liaison with the Missions Committee.
Communication
- Cultivate strong relationships with mission partners at both the local, state, national, and international levels.
- Share updates from both missional activities and mission partners.
- Inspires and encourages church members to be missionally minded and engaged.
- Collaborates heavily with the Communications and Media departments to effectively communicate missional initiatives and build rapport with church members by such things as sharing stories, sharing testimonies, and detailing opportunities to serve, give, and share experiences.
Training & Assimilation
- Mobilize, equip, and send church members to serve with local, state, national, and international mission activities and trips.
- Creates and maintains a leadership pipeline of people to lead mission trips and events.
- Partners with all ministries (i.e. Kids, Students, Discipleship, Worship) to provide missional education and opportunities.
Financial Responsibilities
- Responsible for monthly budget reports.
- Responsible for allocating yearly budget goals.
- Partners with the Executive Pastor, Accountant, and Missions Committee to manage all funds related to missions.
Commitment
- Pursue church membership.
- Be an active, engaged church member participant in church services, a Sunday School class, and at general church events.
- Shepherd, minister to, and serve the members of the church as opportunity allows.
- Meet with pastoral staff on weekly basis for prayer, encouragement, instruction, and accountability.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
Personal Qualifications
- Personal testimony of both having received Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and a call into the ministry.
- Evidence of leadership, ministerial, and missions-related ability through previous experience, responsibilities, and education. For education, a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required; seminary is preferred.
- A heart to shepherd people in their walk with God.
- Evidence of ability to effectively function within the ministry team and staff.
- Ability to use relevant technology, software, and apps related to duties of both office and mission’s ministry.
- Ability to lift equipment and items related to the needs of the mission’s ministry.
