Kids Ministry Director

God is growing our kid’s ministry at Southside, and we are excited for the next leader God has for us! The role of the Kids Director is to provide leadership for kids (1st-5th grade) and parents under the overall church-wide mission of Love, Grow, and Go. This position is responsible to develop, promote, and implement a comprehensive program of spiritual growth, Christian education, and activities for kids.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Committed Christian and eligible for membership to the church.

• Bible College/Seminary degree is preferred or some type of theological training but not required.

• Alignment with the Mission, Vision, Core Values, and Statement of Faith of Southside.

• Must have proven interpersonal and administrative strengths including the ability to lead, organize, plan, delegate, manage and execute tasks and programs with efficiency.

• Be a highly visible, welcoming, and friendly presence for parents and children.

• Have a ministry calling for serving in a local church and working in kids/preschool ministry.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide overall leadership and vision for the Kids and Preschool divisions.

• Provide leadership in developing a meaningful, age appropriate worship experience for children

• Develop objectives and goals for the ministry, including in-reach and outreach to families.

• Select all materials, curriculums, and resources to effectively disciple children.

• Plan and conduct children’s activities such as Bible Fellowship Groups, Kid’s Church, mission opportunities, and Summer Camp.

• Enlist, screen, equip, and evaluate volunteer leaders and Bible Fellowship teachers for all children’s programs.

• Counsel parents and children using Christian values and biblical solutions.

• Purchase and oversee the use and maintenance of all equipment used in the Kids' area.

• Maintain and continually improve security measures for all children areas such as background checks, sexual abuse training, CPR training, and other necessary trainings.

Other:

• Assist other ministry areas as needed.

• Contact members and prospects as assigned by the Senior Pastor or Associate Pastor
