Job Description

The Family Life Pastor reports to the Lead Pastor.  This full-time position directs the growth and continued enhancement of the Famil, Children’s ministries, and Sonshine Preschool. As the Family Life Pastor, you are responsible for the continued growth and development of the managers reporting directly to your position.


This Family & MissionsPastor is also responsible for all mission related tasks and activities, oversees and locally, and any other areas in the life of the Church as assigned. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

o   Manage Children’s Director. Level of involvement should include detailed review of the research, development and implementation of class materials.  Be involved in and supportive of any Sunday school teacher recruitment and training.

o   Manage Sonshine Preschool Director.  Oversee preparation and reporting of preschool budget.  Involved in setting of preschool vision and curriculum.  Participate and be supportive in the recruitment and training of preschool teachers.

o   Oversee and develop global missions:  schedule trips, train leaders, prepare teams and report back to the Lead Pastor/Church as requested.  Lead Mission’s Board and oversee monthly financial missions support. 

o   Develop and lead Community Service projects.  This includes but is not limited to Feed the Hungry, Bags of Hope, Senior Care, Boxes of Hope (Thanksgiving meals), Stars of Hope (Christmas gifts), and Operation Christmas Child. 

o   Oversee all classes pertaining to family.  Currently includes divorce care, grief share, and marriage classes, parenting.

o   Oversee family special events.  Currently includes movie nights, egg dash, trunk or treat, Father- Daugther dance.

o   Backs up the Lead Pastor as needed. This could include preaching, assisting with baptisms and communion.

o   Directs and/or develops any other ministry team, as required

o   Implements necessary changes to various ministries, when called upon to do so. 


EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

o   Bachelors Degree and/or classes in Biblical Studies/Church Ministry preferred

o   3 years of experience in Ministry preferred


SKILLS AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS

o   Strong leadership skills, being able to identify and cast vision for volunteers.

o   Strong administrative skills, paying attention to detail and follow-through in ministry.

o   Strong relational skills, being able to connect w/ people and maintain quality relationships.


EXPECTATIONS

o   Maintain and develop a healthy spiritual life through regular Scripture reading and prayer.

o   Involvement in Acts 2:42 style community through a Life Group (as a leader or participant).

o   Partner with Hope through tithing and sacrificial giving. (10% to Hope)

o   Model a heart for the community through your ministry and relationships, in and outside of the church.

o   Contribute to the healthy and chemistry of the staff through biblical principles of harmony and conflict resolution.

o   Set the example by actively contributing to the vision and growth of Hope Community, both, in and outside of your ministry area. 

o   Take initiative and seek additional training or direction as needed.

o   Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
