Worship/Discipleship Pastor

The Worship and Discipleship Director is responsible for leading and developing the worship ministry and discipleship programs within the church. This role is aimed at enhancing the

worship experience, fostering spiritual growth, directing educational programs, and promoting biblical discipleship among the congregation, in alignment with Grandview beliefs and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Worship Leader:

- Plan, coordinate, and lead weekly worship services and special events.

- Recruit, develop, and disciple a volunteer Worship Team to assist in leading the Worship Service.

- Select and prepare music that aligns with Biblical theology and enhances the worship experience.

- Lead and rehearse the worship team, including musicians, vocalists, and technical staff.

- Oversee the audio-visual aspects of worship services, ensuring high-quality sound and video production.

- Introduce and integrate new songs and worship styles that are biblically sound and congregationally appropriate.

- Oversee, develop, and train the youth worship team.

Discipleship Development:

- Develop and implement a comprehensive discipleship strategy that includes small groups, Bible studies, and other educational programs.

- Recruit, train, and support leaders for discipleship groups and programs.

- Provide resources and curriculum that promote spiritual growth and biblical literacy.

- Collaborate with other ministry leaders to ensure a cohesive approach to discipleship across all age groups.

Leadership and Supervision:

- Mentor and develop worship team members, fostering their spiritual and musical growth.

- Provide leadership and oversight to discipleship volunteers and small group leaders.

- Create a culture of excellence, unity, and collaboration within the worship and discipleship ministries.

- Coordinate with staff to fulfill the overall vision of making disciples.

- All other duties assigned by the Lead Pastor and/or Elder Board.Administration and Communication:

- Manage the worship and discipleship budgets, ensuring responsible stewardship of resources.

- Communicate regularly with the congregation about worship and discipleship opportunities.

- Utilize various platforms (e.g., church website, social media, newsletters) to promote worship services and discipleship programs.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Music, Christian Education, or a related field preferred.

- Significant experience in worship leadership and discipleship in a church setting.

Skills and Abilities:

- Proficient in vocal and instrumental music, with the ability to lead congregational worship.

- Strong organizational, leadership, and team-building skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to teach and mentor others in their spiritual and musical development.

Personal Attributes:

- Demonstrates integrity, humility, and a mature; growing Christian faith.
