JOB DESCRIPTION Do you love Jesus and love to help people worship Him? Are you a gifted musician with a strong singing voice and want to use those gifts to bless God’s people? Are you creative and excited about the opportunity to build a brand-new worship service, including designing a new worship space? First Lutheran is looking for someone like you to join our team as we create a Sunday morning contemporary service designed to reach people with the good news of Jesus and invite believers to be inspired and nourished in their faith.
POSITION OVERVIEW ‣ Design and oversee the remodeling of the worship center for contemporary worship. ‣ Form a worship band to lead the new Sunday morning worship service. ‣ Lead worship on Wednesday nights using the existing worship band (30-minute service). ‣ Work in collaboration with the Senior Pastor for each service. ‣ Promote the new service with digital content. This position is new to First Lutheran and includes the creation of a new Sunday contemporary service. The first six months of the position will be to design and create the service, attract and develop musicians, and prepare for launch of new service in the fall of 2024. The position includes taking over leadership for the Wednesday worship service; a simple 30-minute service led by the Wednesday Night LIGHT band

We are a vibrant and growing mainline church in the heart of Colorado Springs. We work to help people follow Jesus, learn from the scriptures, serve the community and be light to the world. We have a reputation for great preaching, strong music and extensive outreach in the community. Currently we have 3 traditional worship services with an average weekly worship of 400. Our plan is to add a Sunday morning contemporary service this year. We want to reach people who are tired of churches picking sides in politics and culture wars and would rather just follow Jesus and be a church that serves the neighbor.
