Lead Nursery Teacher

Overview:

We are urgently seeking a teacher who loves the Lord, and has a passion for working with nursery age children. Our nursery on Sundays isn’t very large, but we need a consistent person every week to lead in this ministry in order to build relationships with the children, and trust with their parents. This is a part time position, providing nursery care during our Sunday morning service. $25/hour with 2-3 hours per week.

Duties Include:

- Preparing the Nursery for children on Sunday mornings.

- Engaging with parents as they drop off and pick up their children.

- Taking care of the children during service by playing with them, reading to them, changing their diapers if needed, etc.

- Maintaining a good relationship with parents by communicating with them about how their children are doing.

- Cleaning the Nursery after every child has been picked up.

- Keeping the children safe by adhering to drop off and pick up procedures.

- Making a list of supplies, and other needs, and communicating those needs with the Children’s Pastor.

- Working with the Children’s Pastor to maintain a safe and fun environment for the Nursery.

Job Requirements:

- Must have a personal relationship with Jesus

- Must have experience working with 0-3 years olds

- Must have some knowledge of child welfare regulations and best practices

- Must be 18 years or older

- Must be CPR/First Aid certified

- Must be submitted to a background check

- Must be able to lift small children

- Must be able to easily move back and forth from a seated position on the floor to a standing position

- Must be able to communicate with people of many cultures

- The ability to speak/understand Spanish is not required, but would be very helpful
