Overview:
The Children’s Ministry Director is a part-time position. The person filing this role will oversee and coordinate the larger mission of Outlook Christian Church’s Children’s Ministry (infant-5th grade) by providing a vision and the necessary infrastructure to enact this vision. This is done by planning the overarching vision for Children’s, coordinating with the pastoral staff and volunteers, and serving hands-on as needed.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Plan and oversee the annual development of Outlook Kids as a department and ministry of Outlook Church (for example: yearly rhythms, ministry goals, volunteer management, training, etc.)
- Develop, oversee, and operate within the specific discipleship subset of Outlook Kids (4th-5th grade)
- Oversee the selection of appropriate curriculum for each age group that is Bible-saturated, Gospel-centered, engaging, fun, and impactful
- Ensure that Outlook Kids are effectively discipled by 5th grade graduation to enter Outlook Youth, confident in their knowledge of the Gospel, and can participate in Sunday worship service
- Directly oversee the execution of Outlook Kids’ weekend programming and special events (Easter, Christmas, etc.)
- Develop and oversee annual break camps (Spring Break, Summer, & Fall Break) including selecting content, scheduling events, delegating with church staff and volunteers, etc.)
- Oversee all general operation components of Outlook Kids (communication updates with parents, volunteer recruitment and development, safety procedures, staff, and various sub-teams, etc.)
- Represent Outlook Kids at all necessary staff meetings
- Availability to work Sundays and special events, including but not limited to: summer camps, spring break, fall break, Easter, and Christmas.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Have a clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a passionate, growing, personal relationship with Him.
- Participate in Outlook Christian Church and wholeheartedly embrace the doctrine, mission, and worship philosophy of Outlook.
- This person must be humble, loyal, trustworthy, capable, flexible, detail-oriented, able to hold confidence, and have a servant’s heart. In addition, this individual must be able to comprehend and implement the vision and initiatives of Outlook Church and possess excellent clerical, organizational, communication (written and verbal), and computer skills.
Experience/Education/Salary:
- Education, Human Development and Family Studies, Biblical Studies degree and/or in-depth experience
- Volunteer Leading/Management
- Description: 20-25 hours per week
- Salary: $2000 per month
- Reports To: Family Life Pastor
