West Side Church in Poplar Bluff, MO, is looking for a full-time Senior Pastor to lead our multi-generational congregation. This man of God will shepherd believers, both new and long-standing, through teaching of the Gospel, preaching the scriptures, and providing counsel to those in need. The ideal leader will be encouraged as they inspire a renewed vision for the church, foster unity among our community of believers, and display humility and a Godly character.
Ideal candidates will possess the requirements outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9.
Qualifications
• Must be a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ
• Be gifted in preaching, teaching, and discipleship.
• Must be an ordained minister with a Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Ministry or Biblical Theology
• Must have experience leading a congregation of similar size (150+)
• Experienced working with and developing a strong team-oriented ministry, promoting effective communications amongst church staff, leadership teams, and the board of directors.
• Be committed to a long-term position as pastor.
Responsibilities
• Teaching/Preaching: Leading the church through dedicated study, speaking the Gospel, and unpacking the scriptures in a detailed, and systematic way.
• Vision Caster: Setting a new vision for West Side Church as we renew our focus on God’s Word and fulfilling the great commission.
• Discipleship: Provide training opportunities and leadership to the congregation for outreach and evangelism.
• Pastor: Meet the congregation’s spiritual needs through visitations, prayer, weddings and funerals, and the administration of communion.
• Counselor: Provide congregants with religious, moral, and emotional support.
