Position Title: Church Operations Manager

Location: Freedom Voice Ministries, Columbia, MD

Reports To: Overseer and Executive Pastor



Position Overview:

Freedom Voice Ministries, a non-denominational church located in Columbia, MD, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Church Operations Manager. The ideal candidate will be fluent in computer technology, social media, and digital marketing. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of the church's day-to-day activities, assisting the overseer with administrative tasks, networking with other churches, and driving growth in membership. The Church Operations Manager will oversee all church operations, including administration, marketing, and community outreach, and will be responsible for reporting to the overseer and executive pastor.



Key Responsibilities:

  1. Church Operations Management:
  • Oversee the daily operations of the church, ensuring all functions run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Manage church facilities, coordinating maintenance, security, and other operational needs.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve church operations and ensure compliance with legal and denominational requirements.
  1. Administrative Support:
  • Assist the overseer with administrative tasks, including scheduling, correspondence, and record-keeping.
  • Prepare reports, meeting agendas, and other documentation as required by the overseer and executive pastor.
  • Coordinate and oversee the work of administrative staff and volunteers.
  1. Digital and Social Media Management:
  • Manage the church’s social media platforms, ensuring content is engaging, up-to-date, and aligned with the church’s mission and vision.
  • Create and distribute digital content, including newsletters, event promotions, and sermon recordings.
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of social media campaigns, adjusting strategies as needed to increase engagement and reach.
  1. Marketing and Outreach:
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to increase church membership and community engagement.
  • Utilize research and data analysis to identify opportunities for outreach and growth.
  • Coordinate and oversee church events, ensuring they are well-promoted and effectively executed.
  1. Networking and Relationship Building:
  • Build and maintain relationships with other churches, community organizations, and local businesses to enhance the church’s presence and impact in the community.
  • Represent the church at meetings, conferences, and community events as required.
  1. Strategic Planning and Research:
  • Conduct research to stay informed on current trends in church growth, marketing, and community engagement.
  • Work with the overseer and executive pastor to develop and implement strategic plans for the church’s growth and development.
  1. Reporting and Communication:
  • Regularly report to the overseer and executive pastor on the status of church operations, membership growth, and marketing efforts.
  • Communicate effectively with church leadership, staff, and congregation, ensuring transparency and collaboration in all areas of church management.



Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Theology, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in church administration, operations management, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in computer technology, including Microsoft Office Suite, social media platforms, and digital marketing tools.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with church leadership, staff, and congregation.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and lead teams effectively.
  • Marketing and Research: Demonstrated experience in marketing, membership growth strategies, and conducting research to inform decision-making.
  • Networking: Ability to build and maintain relationships with external partners and organizations.
  • Personal Qualities: Strong commitment to the mission and vision of Freedom Voice Ministries, with a heart for service and community engagement.
