+ Job Purpose
To lead 6th through 12th grade students in our community to know, love and serve Jesus Christ. Develop, share and execute the vision of Citygate Ministries (CG) students, to fill our city with bright, Godly, capable leaders.Oversee all student ministry services, volunteers, events & student ministry involvement with Citygate as a whole.
+ Duties & Responsibilities
+ Leadership
- Bring energy, vision & strategy to Citygate’s student ministry.
- Supervise, manage, lead & develop Citygate students Adult and Student leaders.
- Meet with CG Adult and Student leaders regularly as a team, as well as 1x1.
- Lead development of volunteer small group leaders and other volunteer leaders.
- Be a leader within the CG staff and ministries, attending weekly worship, and being involved in other events. Highly encouraged to participate in an CG small group.
- Lead CG Students Middle school service on Sunday mornings.
+ Relationships
- Develop relationship with CG Staff to ensure co-ministry collaboration representing CG.
- Meeting with current ACF students and students in the community through school and community activities.
- Attend students’ school activities, lunches, and games.
- Develop discipleship relationships with students and volunteer leaders.
- Oversee and develop the small group leaders and step in when needed.
- Connect with and communicate with Student Ministry parents regularly, through personal contact during church services and events, as well as email communication and other forms of communication. Develop strong relationships with parents.
- Seek opportunities to get involved in local para-church ministries (YL, FCA, etc.)
- Cultivate community and relationships with student ministry volunteers.
+ Teaching
- Teach in a large group setting 2-3 times per month.
- Organize and develop teachers for other Sundays.
- Lead the development of small group materials and content.
- Lead the planning of curriculum for weekly services.
- Oversee content for volunteer training.
+ Ongoing Ministry
- Direct the vision of CG students’ digital and online presence including social media and communication with parents and students.
- Direct curriculum decisions for monthly and weekly series plans and supervise curriculum distribution.
- Supervise onboarding process of new volunteers.
- Supervise regular serving opportunities for students, with CG outreach and CG partners.
- Supervise and provide vision for the planning and execution of weekly worship gatherings.
- Supervise and provide vision for the planning and execution of all events including camps and retreats.
- Supervise and provide vision for the planning and execution all short-term mission trips.
- Review and refine policies and procedures to protect students, and volunteers.
- Assign special projects with Students and volunteers, as appropriate.
