The Youth Ministry Leader is a part-time position. The Youth Ministry Leader shall be directly accountable to the Teaching Pastor and shall serve as a colleague in ministry working toward the building up of the life and ministry of the Morningside Bible Church Sr. High & Middle School Youth Departments.

Anticipated Time Commitments
1. Office Hours Preparing For The Ministry During The Week: 20 hours per week
2. Participating in actual ministry:
a. 1 hour a week teaching Sunday School
b. 2 hours a week leading Wednesday evening Youth Meeting
c. 2-4 hours a quarter leading a minimum 1 Youth Activity a quarter
Responsibilities/Duties
1. Cast a compelling ministry vision and execution strategy based on student needs, God’s will and consistent with the overall “Vision” of
Morningside Bible Church.
2. Develops, implements, and administers the church’s ministry for Senior High and Middle School, including planning and leading all
regular weekly meetings, 1 Youth “Activity” per quarter (or, a possible Youth Mission Trip as a replacement for 1 activity). (NOTE: With
student “discipleship” and “evangelistic” outreach always serving as underlying goals)
3. Study and prepare a lesson/message for each regular weekly meeting that is intended to challenge and move the Youth toward
Spiritual Decision and “Discipleship.” (NOTE: All curriculums must be approved by the Teaching Pastor and Elders)
4. Assemble a volunteer adult staff to assist in the ministry and provide leadership training and skill development for them.
5. Be available to youth for counseling and general discussion through the maintenance of regular office hours and by special
appointment.
6. When possible, attend school plays, sporting events, and musicals as they support youth.
7. Seek to become acquainted with the families of youth.
8. Meets “weekly” with the Teaching Pastor to go over schedule, sermon/lesson preparation, and to be “mentored” in the overall work,
vision, and ministry of Morningside Bible Church.
General
1. Maintain relationships with all teens that are “above reproach” in all areas and demonstrate Godly character, personally and
professionally, for the glory of God. (NOTE: Develop a “safety plan”, to be approved by the Teaching Pastor, for all interaction w/
teens in group & private)
2. Be supportive of the Teaching Pastor, Elders, Deacons, and all various Ministry Leaders of the Morningside Bible Church.
3. Maintain a “teachable” spirit and a willingness to grow – never believing you’ve ARRIVED!
4. Make every effort to be organized and well-prepared.
5. On occasion, to provide “pulpit supply” in the Teaching Pastor’s absence when asked.
