WHO SHOULD APPLY

Many of our positions do not require experience working in vocational ministry. In fact, we hire skilled and talented people from a variety of professional fields. What’s most important is how someone fits the Boulevard Christian Church culture we are creating. We are here to nurture, grow, and develop your skills and gifts as you serve. We are seeking creative, energetic, godly, servants with a high capacity for ministry to a local church.

High-capacity individuals can lead a ministry area as it currently exists while also championing a vision for where it needs to go and lead people to accomplish that vision—and do it all with excellence. Anyone we hire should be competent in leading volunteers to accomplish the tasks of ministry rather than being the sole person doing the tasks. A high-capacity person is always willing to learn more and become a better leader. They don’t ever think that they have arrived or have all the answers. They also welcome feedback, are willing to take risks, and are driven by the mission of the church rather than their own agenda. They are concept thinkers, able to manage multiple projects at a time, and balance the use of processes & numbers along with leading people in their relationship with Jesus—the most important part of what we do. Anyone of any age can be a high-capacity leader.

Boulevard is seeking a high-capacity person to lead our Children’s Ministry.

PURPOSE

• We aim to see the lives of our children (infant through fifth grade) changed by Jesus through well-trained volunteers who accurately handle God’s Word in age-appropriate methods.
• The Children’s Ministry Pastor will provide point of contact of leadership, recruitment, and training for volunteers within the Children’s Ministry Department.
• The Children’s Ministry Pastor will partner with parents and families to build impactful methods of growth for children and the Children’s Ministry Department.

ROLE and RESPONSIBILITY

• Lead children into a life-changing relationship with Jesus.
• Equip and train leaders who invest in life-changing relationships with children.
• Plan and execute effective ministry opportunities.
• Develop a culture of active partnership with parents.
• Establish and nurture relationships with leaders in local schools, maintaining a strong and positive presence.
• Work closely with Student Ministry Leaders (Sixth through Twelfth Grade) for critical continuity.
• Build a culture where children become hungry to know Jesus and to know God’s Word.
• Occasional responsibilities shared among all staff positions such as weddings, funerals, and other pastoral duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Humility and open desire for personal and professional development
• Current spiritual maturity and continued spiritual growth
• Effective teaching and leadership skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Integrity of character to handle sensitive leadership conversations
• Ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality
• Team player; self-motivated and strong work ethic (expected 45 hours per week)
• Strong recruiting capacity
• Proficient understanding of children’s culture, students and parents
• Bold change agent who pursues strong, healthy results (changed lives)

• The church is open to a part-time position.
