ABOUT OUR SCHOOL: We are a private, Christian mission school (Pre-Kindergarten – 8th Grade). Our Class sizes range between 15 and 20 students. Teacher/Student Ratio is 1:15. The mission of The Freedom School is to provide a safe, nurturing, learning community where students of different beliefs, races, ethnicities and economic circumstances are reconciled to God and one another by experiencing forgiveness by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
POSITIONS NEEDED: After School Program Director
SUPERVISOR: Principal
COMPENSATION: starting pay $18/hr. Commensurate with experience.
SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTION / Demonstrate the competencies and behaviors needed to support students’ academic & social/emotional learning. This includes helping students embrace and model the school’s core values found in our PEARLS (Perseverance, Excellence, Academics, Reconciliation, Love).
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES / Duties include but are not limited to:
● Delegates authority and shares responsibilities with Assistant
● Maintains a safe, organized program
● Effectively applies restorative disciplinary practices.
● Plans recreational activities for 4- to 13-year-olds
● Provides consistent, immediate feedback to student behavior
● Monitors and maintains a positive environment that supports the school-wide behavior expectations.
● Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor consistent with school’s staff handbook
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
● Knowledge and application of age-appropriate expectations
● Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with co-workers, students and parents.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
● Must be able to pass an initial fingerprint and background clearance check
● May be required to lift supplies and materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
● Must be able to work outside down to freezing temperature.
Hours 3-6 pm weekdays
BENEFITS: No insurance. Pay continues during regular school holidays.

The Freedom School, however, is a mission school...bringing Christian education to people who cannot typically afford it through a sliding fee scale that accommodates everyone. With 140 children in PreK through 8th grades, we are an intimate community committed to guiding families to reconciliation with God, self and others.
