Student and Young Adult Director

Edgewater Church in Port Charlotte, Florida is a community of people who are hungry for God and who love our community. We are currently prayerfully seeking the next leader for our Student and Young Adult ministry.

The church has been known for service to the community through the years due to their active missional engagements in our bike ministry, thrift store, and food pantry. The church has been blessed over the past year to see a new move of God happening. This move is characterized by new salvations, baptisms, new members, and new teams taking on the mantle of leadership. During this time the church has also welcomed a new lead pastor and are looking to build a staff team full of passionate Christ followers who are Humble, Hungry, and Smart.

Edgewater Church sits in a perfect setting to reach, share and bless the next generation of Charlotte county. The students are hungry, the church is excited and a willing supporter, and the facilities are primed and to support a future thriving ministry to students. The Student Ministry currently meets on Wednesday nights and gathers 25-30 students each week. The Young Adult ministry has just begun but is already seeing people in their early 20’s from across the community increase in faith.

We are looking for a strong visionary leader to come in and help build what the next phase of these ministries will be. While we have a solid base to build from, we believe that God is ready for our church to meet students where they will be, not where they have been. We envision that the next leader will have prior experience in student ministry either on staff, as an intern or a high capacity volunteer. They must be aligned with Wesleyan-Orthodox theology and open to a continuationist perspective of the Holy Spirit.
