ABOUT THE DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES ROLE:
Directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the Human Resources Department across the church business as well as BRAVE Academy. This position operates with a high level of independence, initiative, confidentiality, and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will embrace the core values of BRAVE and be a culture carrier for the organization.
Experience and Knowledge Required:
- Minimum of seven years in human resources
- College degree in HR or related field
- Demonstrates effective time management
- Proven track record of problem-solving and employee relations
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, written, and organizational skills
- Ability to act as a role model for church staff
- Projects a professional image, able to handle a fast-paced environment
- Steady, positive attitude, people-oriented, team player, customer service-minded
- Familiar with Microsoft Office
- Strong work ethic, commitment to excellence
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all areas of human resources including recruiting, hiring, payroll, benefits, teacher contracts, and employee relations across the church and academy
- Annually reviews and makes recommendations to VP of Operations for improvement of policies, procedures, and practices regarding personnel matters
- Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation to ensure compliance
- Responsible for compliance with federal and state legislation regarding personnel matters
- Assists VP of Operations in the annual review, preparation, and administration of the wage and salary program
- Conducts orientation and exit interviews
- Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters
- Prepares and conducts training for managers on human resource matters
