Job Description

The Worship Pastor is called to serve the Lord and the congregation of the church by providing pastoral counsel, prayer, service, and leadership to all members and guests. The Worship Pastor shall be responsible for developing and executing strategies and processes that connect members of the church and community to Christ and the church through corporate worship and engaging media resources online and in print. This position serves as a Ministry Team Lead and actively participates in Executive Coordination Meetings with other Pastors and Directors to help guide the church to achieve its mission of ‘Inviting People to be Transformed by Jesus’.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Demonstrate a Christ-like attitude in performing all work and walk humbly with the Lord and in peace with the staff


Develop, execute, and evaluate a strategy for the Worship Ministry that connects the unchurched to Christ and the church, and renews believers through corporate worship, online digital media resources, and other worship experiences

  1. Develop and coordinate weekly worship service plans that coordinate with the sermon to be preached
  2. Organize and lead rehearsals for corporate worship and special events
  3. Lead weekly review meetings with the staff on observations from the previous worship service
  4. Develop and execute a plan to create an engaging online presence that includes live-streamed worship experiences
  5. Develop and execute special events that invite the church and the community to connect and worship outside of Sunday morning services


Develop and Lead Ministry Teams for Worship and Technical Support

Worship

  1. Develop and oversee teams to lead worship including a choir, orchestra, and worship band
  2. Oversee execution of the worship services, ensuring volunteers are equipped with the necessary items to be successful
  3. Oversee maintenance of the music library, musical equipment, and other equipment
  4. Recruit, train, and schedule instrumentalists and vocalists
  5. Coordinate and execute special events including concerts and performances
  6. Maintaining the style of worship decided by the church

Technical Support

  1. Develop and train a team of volunteers to execute lighting, sound, and projection requirements for on-campus worship services, ministry events in the facility, and special events
  2. Develop and train a team of volunteers to create an online worship experience produced and prepared for livestream from the church
  3. Oversee maintenance of lighting, sound, projection/streaming equipment, and cameras including availability of supplies


Develop and populate a Leadership Development Pipeline for Ministry Teams to execute their mission and equips volunteers to be successful in their role

Provide mentorship and support to other campus worship teams to execute their ministry requirements

Other duties as assigned


SUPERVISORY DUTIES

Develop annual goals, supervise, and complete performance reviews for the following positions:

  1. Campus Production Specialist (when filled)
  2. Worship Media Intern (when filled)
  3. Sugarcreek Worship Leader | Choir Director | Orchestra Director


RELATIONSHIPS

  1. Reports to the Executive Pastor
  2. Interacts frequently with Pastors, support staff personnel, and ministry volunteers at all campuses


REQUIREMENTS

  1. Shall meet the qualifications of an Elder seen in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9
  2. Shall be duly licensed, ordained, and a Southern Baptist minister of the Gospel in full fellowship with all the denominational agencies with which the church is in cooperation
  3. Shall be a called servant of God and shall hold the Holy Bible as the complete, infallible, inerrant Word of God
  4. Shall support the total program of the church, be a strong adherent to Southern Baptist doctrine, subscribe to the FBK Articles of Faith and Covenant, and manifest a spirit of cooperation conducive to Christian fellowship
  5. Shall be an active member of the church, including participation in weekly worship, be connected to a community/small group, and be a faithful supporter of the church through tithes and offerings
  6. Bachelor's Degree required - Seminary Degree preferred
  7. Work includes local travel, some national and international travel
  8. Duties require irregular work hours including Sundays
