Concord Campus Pastor – Laurel Ridge Community Church, Concord

 

The main campus of Laurel Ridge Community Church (Oakley, CA) is a growing, multiethnic, multigenerational church with about 900 attendees across three Sunday services. Located in the greater Bay Area, 45 minutes east of San Francisco, Laurel Ridge is committed to replanting and renaming Bethel Baptist Church in Concord, CA, bringing it under its leadership and governance.

 

We are seeking a Campus Pastor to lead this new Concord campus—a suburban congregation of approximately 35-40 people—located 25 minutes west of our Oakley campus. The Concord Campus Pastor will be a staff member of Laurel Ridge and will work closely with its leadership team to implement the church’s vision, oversee operations, and shepherd the congregation in Concord.

 

Role & Responsibilities

•        Lead and oversee the Concord campus, providing spiritual leadership and pastoral care.

•        Develop staff and volunteers, fostering a thriving church community.

•        Serve as the Campus Host for a video-streamed message from the main Oakley campus.

•        Advance Laurel Ridge’s mission: Seek God, Build Community, Unleash Compassion within the Concord campus and surrounding community.

 

About the Concord Campus

Formerly Bethel Baptist Church, the Concord campus has a primarily older congregation, with 10-12 younger adults. The facility includes a 160-180 seat auditorium, classrooms, a fellowship hall, and a kitchen. The church is debt-free and located on a major roadway in Concord. The existing congregation has been “adopted” by Laurel Ridge Community Church of Oakley, CA and has enthusiastically agreed to this replant effort and to transition under the leadership of Laurel Ridge Community Church, Oakley.

Key Responsibilities

 

Spiritual Leadership & Shepherding

•         Oversee the spiritual health of the Concord campus by investing in staff and key volunteers.

•         Provide pastoral counseling, care, and encouragement to the congregation.

•         Serve as the Campus Host on Sundays, facilitating a welcoming and engaging experience while utilizing the video teaching from the main campus.

•         Lead with a shepherd’s heart, guiding people through challenges with spiritual maturity and compassion.

 

Championing Laurel Ridge’s Vision

•         Reinforce the mission, vision, and values of Laurel Ridge Community Church (Seek God, Build Community, Unleash Compassion).

•         Ensure the campus embraces its role as one church in multiple locations with shared leadership and purpose.

•         Communicate vision effectively in public settings and leadership meetings.

 

Building Community & Engagement

•         Foster a culture of love, connection, and belonging.

•         Plan and lead events that encourage fellowship and deeper relationships.

•         Represent the church at local events and engage with community leaders.

 

Leadership & Development

•         Recruit, train, and empower key volunteer leaders.

•         Provide coaching, feedback, and strategic direction to campus staff and teams.

•         Offer insights and guidance in areas, such as campus culture, events, and services.

•         Participate in leadership meetings, including Supervisors, Project Management, Events Promotions, and Staff meetings.

 

Skills & Competencies

•         Strong leadership, team-building, and communication skills.

•         Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

•         Proficiency in project management, logistics, and budgeting.

•         Ability to operate office technology, including computers, phone systems, and printers.
