We are a neighborhood church located in the heart of Fayetteville, NC. While one of the larger churches in Fayetteville, Snyder does a good job of helping folks feel "known," welcome, and connected. Snyder has a heart for missions that keeps drawing our eyes and hearts outward. This, we believe, is a primary reason that both traditional and contemporary services/styles have lived under one roof in such a healthy way for the past 25 years. Intergenerational worship and intergenerational service are two qualities that define Snyder. Fayetteville is home to a large military base, Fort Bragg. Many soldiers and their families find a home here until the military sends them on. As such, it helps us remember that we are a "mission outpost" where the church gathers for worship, community, study, and training so that we might scatter as effective ambassadors throughout our community and across the world. Snyder enjoys 3 ongoing international partnerships with ministries in Haiti, Kenya, and Myanmar, going back in one instance almost 20 years. Snyder is debt free as of 2020! and gives nearly 1million to missions annually! Another unique characteristic of this Baptist church is rooted in the days of its planting in 1949 when the Pastor at FBC downtown charged his wife to plant a church in what was then a suburb of Fayetteville. As such, women, as laity and ordained ministers, have held and continue to hold strong leadership positions in all areas. Many of our deacons are women and women lead across the gender and age spectrum.
