The Worship and Communications Pastor will serve on the Leadership Team of Double Oak Community Church – Chelsea Campus. This position is for a Pastor to come and serve in a pastoral role for the members and friends of the Chelsea Campus and Chelsea at large. Hospital visits, family visits, and community involvement are a must. The individual chosen will work with employees and lay team members to discover and develop worship and communication plans that are God-honoring and in keeping with the direction of Double Oak Community Church and the leadership of the Elders.
Accountability: The Pastor for Worship and Communications reports to the Executive Pastor and works closely with the Campus Pastor for worship planning.
Primary Responsibilities:
Worship Arts
- Lead weekly rehearsals for
- Bands
- Vocals
- Tech Teams
- Instrumentalists
- Service planning for Sunday services as well as special seasonal services and events.
- Lead worship services and gatherings- coordinate with the Campus Pastor to plan worship services that are:
- Biblically centered, and that reinforces the senior pastor’s sermon.
- Using various worship elements, draw attendees into an atmosphere of genuine worship.
- Leadership at significant worship gatherings as needed (Christmas Eve, Christmas, Easter, for example). Added services may include funerals, weddings, and other special events, but the Worship and Communications Pastor may delegate those if they choose to do so.
- Worship ministry team- recruit and train musicians and vocalists to take part in leading worship as part of the worship team; request and issue compensation; lead rehearsals for the worship team.
- Tech Team – recruit, train, schedule, and oversee the work of the Tech Team.
- Maintain and upgrade audio-visual equipment- coordinate with the Director of Technology to recommend upgrades to meet worship room audio-visual needs.
- Participate in the budgeting process with the Campus Executive Pastor and DOCC Administrator.
Communication:
- With the assistance of the Executive Pastor, develop a Communication Strategy for the church campus.
- Serve as gatekeeper for all communications on campus and in the community. Communication vehicles may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Weekly e-Newsletter
- Social media strategy
- Weekly Bulletin or handout
- All Announcements which need to be communicated on stage
- Lead a Communications Team of lay members in the administration of the communications strategy.
Pastoral Duties:
- Scheduled office hours and coordinated with the Executive Pastor.
- Family and hospital visits as needed within the staff team structure.
Qualifications:
- A ministry calling with a pastor’s heart for people seeking to share the love and life of Jesus Christ through every aspect of their ministry assignment
- Minimum - Bachelor’s degree in worship from an accredited college, university, or seminary
