Our Church is located on the south side of Holland, Michigan. The Church campus is within walking distance to both the local Holland Christian School and the Holland Public School campuses. The staff consists of 10 people who serve around 400 members. Our middle and high school programs serve approximately 70 to 80 students weekly.
We believe Providence Church is called to boldly share Jesus’ love and hope. Our Church is excited to be growing in the vision to bring Kingdom transformation to our local and global community. We look forward to developing this vision over the next few years to give tangible witness to God’s movement in Holland and around the globe. About the Position
Provides leadership in creating, coordinating, and leading creative, authentic and God-glorifying worship experiences. Equips and collaborates with volunteers and staff to make the vision for worship a reality.

Job Responsibilities & Duties
Leads and coordinates worship experiences…
- Plans, prepares, and leads Sunday worship services.
- Collaborates with the Lead Pastor, Pastor of Worship and Congregational Life, and Worship Team members.
- Creates a culture of community within the Worship Team.
- Appropriately selects music that aligns with the theme of preaching series and services.
- Arranges songs and other liturgical elements in worship that help create a cohesive flow.
Leads Worship Team…
- Coordinates and leads rehearsals with the Instrumental, Vocal, and Technical Team members to ensure a well-prepared Sunday service.
- Gives clear directions to the musicians and Technical Team during rehearsals so that members clearly understand the intended and desired worship outcome.
- Provides leadership and guidance to foster teamwork and unity, while also allowing for collaboration within the rehearsal to help the Worship Team experience ownership.
- Leads Technical Teams: Sound, video, livestream, and lighting. Is responsible for scheduling, supporting, and finding ways for team members to be trained.
Continuously develops musical skills, and knowledge…
- Stays updated with current worship music styles and techniques. Expands musical repertoire and skill set to bring variety and excellence to worship services.
- Leads worship planning meetings with Lead Pastor, Pastor of Worship and Congregational Life, and other team members to contribute ideas, share feedback, and collaborate on the schedule and themes of upcoming services.
Leads and supports in expanding and developing the Worship Team…
- Partners with Pastor of Worship and Congregational Life to identify, recruit, and integrate new members into Worship Team (i.e. vocalists, instrumentalists, technical…)
- Provides guidance, support, and mentoring to worship team members, encouraging their spiritual growth, musical development, and personal well-being.
Engages in ongoing spiritual growth…
- Cultivates a growing relationship with God through prayer and other spiritual disciplines.
- Continually seeks personal and spiritual growth in order to lead others in worship effectively.
Partners with and manages part-time worship support staff…
- Works in partnership with the Pastor of Worship & Congregational Life to oversee these roles.
- Oversees Worship Interns presently serving.
- Works in Partnership with the Creative Media Director in areas of worship media (Pro Presenter, Livestream, Aesthetic/Visual Arts/Graphics) relating to worship experiences.
Provides Worship Experiences to other groups/gatherings…
- Partners with the Director of Student Ministries in assisting to lead worship 1-2 times per month for both Middle School and High School Ministries.
- Helps to raise up and train middle and high school students who have a desire to assist in leading worship in Student Ministry settings as well for Sunday Worship services.
- Is open to partnering with other staff leaders and volunteers in helping to create worship-related events (ie, Christmas worship experiences/programs, Student Ministry worship experiences…)
Participates in Staff Responsibilities…
- Participates in all staff responsibilities such as staff-led projects, staff meetings, retreats, social events, and other misc. activities.
- Encouraged to be involved with community worship experiences.
