About Epiphany Church Chicago

Formerly Missio Dei Lincoln Square, Epiphany Church is a reimagined community committed to Unity & Diversity, Christ at the Center, and Flourishing Community. Our vision for 12 years as a community has been to join God in the renewal of all things.

Our community has many denominational backgrounds, and desires to be spirit-filled in worship, engaging in scripture faithfully, engage in spiritual practices that make us become more like Jesus, live in community, integrate emotional health with our faith, engage our neighborhoods with the love of Christ, embody justice, and practice creative expression.

We seek to be a midwife of hope for every tender soul as we follow the way of Jesus in Chicago.. Our current staff are co-vocational and we are an elder-led, congregational church in ecclesiology.

We are now excited to invite a new staff member voice into this journey, one we hope will arrive as both kindred spirit in the pathways we’ve followed and source of guidance on roads not yet traveled. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative influence who will touch every corner of our community.

In many ways, Epiphany is on the precipice of a new chapter that will define the next decade of our ministry. Our desire is to add a team member who is both drawn to the community we have become and ready to both dream about and lead into who we are becoming.

OUR PILLARS

UNITY & DIVERSITY

In a world that too often divides by race, class, gender, and sexuality, we believe the Church is called to something greater. In Christ, the walls of hostility fall. We choose to embrace difference—not as a threat, but as a gift. This is not a call to uniformity, but to authentic connection, vulnerability, and shared humanity.

CHRIST AT THE CENTER

We follow the way of Jesus with open hands and open hearts, holding a Trinitarian view of faith that sees Christianity as a vast, inclusive journey. Everyone is welcome at Christ’s table. We are a community where faith and doubt, mystery and clarity, can coexist.

FLOURISHING COMMUNITY

We long to see the love of Christ manifest in every part of life. Our calling is to the neighborhoods and streets of Chicago—woven into the spiritual, emotional, economic, cultural, and political fabric of our city. We want to be people who create and sustain spaces where individuals, families, and communities can truly thrive.
