Senior Associate Pastor
Discipleship and Equipping
Position Summary To support the Senior Pastor by leading and equipping the staff and leadership to carry out the mission and vision of the church to make multiplying disciples.

- Master’s Degree
- Prior Pastoral experience
- Experience coaching and leading Staff teams
- Experience recruiting and leading volunteers

- Genuine love for the local church
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to coach, inspire, and motivate church staff team
- Able to build, equip, and motivate volunteer teams
Responsibilities and Duties
- Staff Leadership and Management
- Lead the staff in the development of strategic plans and goals to implement the vision of the church in their ministry areas.
- Evaluate and track the progress of agreed-upon strategies and goals.
- Mentor the staff via spending time, helping with direction, providing accountability leading to personal growth, listening to concerns, and serving as a trusted coach.
- Provide training, support, encouragement, and correction to the staff as necessary.
- Provide excellent management, accountability, and feedback to the staff.
- Perform written annual evaluations with the Staff team.
- Implement FBC’s Vision for Multiplying Disciples
- Lead and manage the Discipleship strategies of the church.
- Train teachers to lead the discipleship strategy grow initiatives.
- Recruit and enlist church members to engage in all four aspects of the discipleship strategies to become replicating disciple-makers.
- Equipping Church Members
- Lead and manage the Executive Volunteer led ministry teams.
- Train and manage the Executive Volunteer team leaders.
- Develop and implement a soul-care ministry for church leadership.
- Recruit and enlist church members to serve on the volunteer teams.
- Communicate weekly with the Team Leaders to ensure all processes and teams are ready to go before each weekend.
- Communicate with the Senior Pastor at the end of the week that everything is in place and ready for Sunday.
- Support the Senior Pastor
- If requested, preach and teach in the Senior Pastor’s absence.
- Be a champion of the vision of the Senior Pastor.
- Enable the Senior Pastor to devote more time with God and family, discern God’s vision and direction, and spend time in prayer/preparation for teaching by removing other responsibilities from his daily activities.
