Position: Executive Pastor (Operations)

As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced and passionate Executive Pastor to provide leadership and oversight for our operations, including finance, facilities, accounting, IT, and project management. This role is vital to ensuring that our church's resources are effectively stewarded to support the mission and vision of Generation Church.
Position Overview:
The Executive Pastor will oversee the day-to-day operations of Generation Church, ensuring that all administrative functions—finance, accounting, facilities, operations, and IT—are running smoothly and effectively across all campuses. This role will work closely with the Lead Pastor, Senior Leadership, and other ministry teams to provide strategic direction and leadership, ensuring that the church is well-equipped to serve and impact its congregation and community.
The ideal candidate will bring at least 8 years of executive-level experience in a church or large nonprofit environment, with a strong background in multisite church operations. Project management experience, particularly in facility construction and working with local municipalities, is highly desirable. A servant-leader who demonstrates a strong relationship with Christ, excellent communication skills, and an unwavering commitment to stewardship and excellence will thrive in this role.
Responsibilities:
1. Financial Leadership:
- Lead the development, implementation, and management of the church’s annual operating budget, ensuring financial alignment with ministry goals.
- Oversee the finance and accounting departments, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and compliance with relevant financial reporting standards.
- Provide regular financial updates to the Lead Pastor and church leadership, offering strategic insights and recommendations for future planning.
- Ensure strong internal controls and risk management practices to safeguard the church’s financial health.
2. Operations & Administration:
- Oversee the church's operational systems, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in areas such as staff administration, volunteer management, and logistical coordination.
- Lead and supervise administrative, facilities, and support staff.
- Develop and maintain office systems, records, and internal communications.
- Ensure all church policies and procedures are documented, up to date, and followed.
- Oversee the management of contracts, insurance, legal documents, and vendor relationships.
3. Facilities & Construction Management:
- Oversee the management and upkeep of church facilities, ensuring they are well-maintained and conducive to ministry and community engagement.
- Lead and manage facility construction projects, including new buildings, renovations, and improvements, from planning through to completion.
- Collaborate with local municipalities, architects, contractors, and project managers to navigate permitting, zoning, and regulatory processes, ensuring compliance and timely project delivery.
- Ensure that facilities are safe, welcoming, and accessible for church staff, volunteers, and the community.
4. IT & Systems Oversight:
- Lead the management of IT systems, including church management software (CMS), live-streaming technology, and IT infrastructure, ensuring they support the needs of the ministry and the church’s growth.
- Implement and maintain digital and technical systems that enhance worship services, communication, and outreach efforts across campuses.
- Ensure IT systems are secure, reliable, and scalable as the church continues to expand.
- Oversee facility security systems such as security cameras, burglar alarms and fire suppression.
5. Leadership & Team Development:
- Lead, manage, and develop key staff in finance, operations, facilities, and IT departments, ensuring a high level of teamwork and alignment with the church’s mission.
- Recruit, train, and mentor team members to cultivate a culture of excellence, service, and collaboration.
- Provide leadership development and spiritual guidance to staff, modeling a Christ-centered approach to leadership and stewardship.
- Encourage and facilitate a strong sense of unity across departments and campuses, ensuring smooth operations and ministry alignment.
6. Strategic Planning & Growth:
- Collaborate with the Lead Pastor and senior leadership team to set and implement strategic goals for church growth and development.
- Provide input into long-term planning efforts, particularly in areas of facility growth, budget forecasting, and resource allocation.
- Identify and lead projects that enhance operational efficiencies, scalability, and long-term sustainability as the church expands across multiple campuses.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in an executive leadership role at a multisite church or large nonprofit, with significant responsibility for finance, facilities, operations, and IT.
- Proven track record in project management, particularly related to facility construction or major renovations. Experience working with local municipalities, zoning, and permitting is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead large teams across multiple locations with diverse needs.

- High-level knowledge of IT systems, including church management software, livestream technologies, and digital communication tools.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Proficient in problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making in high-pressure situations.
