About San Saba's First Baptist Church

Who are we

SSFBC is a warm and welcoming church family. Our goal is to shine the Light of Jesus to all ages, sharing the Gospel of Christ both locally and abroad. We range from multi-generational families who have grown up in this church to new young families looking for a place to raise their children in the country. Regular activities include children, youth and adult Sunday school classes, Wednesday adult bible study, Kids’ Connect and youth group. The community is quaint with a strong agricultural influence. We are known as the “Pecan Capital of the World.”

Our music ministry serves the entire community, including Christmas and Easter programs, Baccalaureate services and community praise nights at the park. Due to the influx of young families, we want the next generation to participate in choir, special productions and musical outreach. We have a dedicated praise team and are looking for someone to encourage them to use their gifts and talents to glorify the Lord.

Who are we looking for

SSFBC is searching for a Minister of Music after God’s own heart who recognizes and is committed to the inerrancy and authority of the Bible. His life should reflect the qualities as listed in Titus 1:5-9 and I Timothy 3:1-7, as well as model the Fruits of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22-23). He will agree with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 and will lead our church with a strong foundation of biblical authority.

He must be able to interact well with the church staff and provide servant leadership. Working under the pastor’s direction he will make biblical decisions concerning the path of the music ministry. His communication should be with grace while leading gently over time. He will be sensitive to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, devoted to prayer and the study of the Word. We are looking for a man who loves the Lord, has a minister’s heart, and connects with people in the church and community.
