Green Hills’ mission is to make and mobilize disciples of Jesus. We are a gospel-centered, Bible-preaching church located in north Orange County, CA. We are trilingual (English, Spanish, Korean) and strive to reflect our community in order to reach our community. For 60 years we have had a strong, multigenerational community of people who value seeing God transform our lives and who have a heart to live on mission with God. We are affiliated with the California Southern Baptist Convention.

about the role

The Worship & Connections Pastor will oversee all aspects of worship services at Green Hills and will lead and shepherd the staff and volunteers involved. They will also oversee the Sunday experience for guests and members, as well as help newer people move through their first steps of connecting to the church, community, and ministries during their first few months at Green Hills. 

responsibilities

A. Worship - provide pastoral leadership to the various worship ministry teams for all worship services and events in all languages.  

1. Plan and facilitate Christ-exalting, engaging, and spiritually meaningful worship experiences each week in collaboration with the other pastors and staff. 
2. Lead worship at the English services 3 Sundays a month, and then develop other leaders for other weeks and services
3. Manage the Tech Assistant and team to provide a consistent and quality worship experience
4. Recruit, develop, and shepherd volunteers for Worship and Tech, helping them become excellent at their task and also grow as disciples of Jesus.
5. Ensure that the appropriate presentation elements are prepared for every worship service– slides, files, lighting cues, etc

B. Sunday Experience - oversee the experience and environment for our members and guests when they attend any of our services.   

1. Lead, coordinate, and set vision for the following teams to work together to create a welcoming environment every weekend: Greeters, Ushers, Hospitality, Security, Parking 
2. Oversee the Connect Cart information area for members and guests to get necessary information on things announced and happening at the church

C.  Connections - help new attendees move through their first steps of connecting to the church

1. Oversee the connection process: Info card, personal contact, emails, invites to Next Steps
2. Initiate relationships with visitors
3. Assist those looking to get more connected in community or serving

strengths & qualifications

• Education - bachelor's degree, seminary is a plus
• Experience - minimum of 2 years as the primary worship leader
• High degree of Bible literacy with sound theology and agreement with our core beliefs
• Proven ability to develop teams and volunteer leaders 
• Must be excellent at connecting with a variety of people
• Leads worship with excellence, and speaks with inspiration from the stage
• Demonstrates proficiency in one or more of the following instruments: guitar or keyboard
• Must be able to meet deadlines when given
• Must be able to manage well the details associated with all of their responsibilities
• Proficient in Planning Center and scheduling
• Experience with MultiTracks or similar software
