Position Title: Director of Worship Ministry 

Reports To: Senior Pastor 

Status: Full-Time // Part-Time 

Location: Grace Church of Doylestown // New Britain, PA 


Position Overview: 

The Director of Worship Ministry will be responsible for executing the worship ministries at Grace Church of Doylestown. This individual will be an integral part of the church’s leadership team, reporting directly to the Senior Pastor and will be committed to cultivating a vibrant and God-centered worship environment while guiding the spiritual formation of the worship teams. The ideal candidate will be a spiritually mature leader who aligns with the beliefs and values of our church, possessing a passion for worship, biblical teaching, and discipleship, while embodying the example of high Christian character. 


Key Responsibilities: 

1. Worship Ministry


  • Lead and plan the Sunday worship services, ensuring that the worship experience is biblically faithful, Christ-centered, theologically sound and excellent. 
  • Coordinate and lead the worship team, which may include musicians, vocalists, and technical staff, to ensure excellence and unity in musical worship. 
  • Select worship songs and hymns that align with the church’s theological convictions, utilizing both traditional and contemporary music that glorifies God and edifies the congregation. 
  • Foster an environment of genuine worship, where the congregation is encouraged to grow in reverence and love for God. 
  • Actively encourage, onboard, and develop new worship team musicians, vocalists, and tech team members. 
  • Ensure all worship-related resources (sound equipment, musical instruments, etc.) are well-maintained and function properly.


2. Leadership and Team Collaboration


  • This role reports directly to the Senior Pastor and who is responsible to ensure the worship ministries align with the overall vision and mission of the church. 
  • Participate in regular staff meetings and contribute to the development of church-wide ministry initiatives. 
  • Recruit, train, and equip volunteers for worship and tech ministries, ensuring all leaders are sound in doctrine and committed to the mission of the church. 
  • Provide leadership and pastoral care to youth and worship ministry volunteers, fostering unity, spiritual growth, and accountability. 
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with church leadership, offering feedback and suggestions for growth and improvement in both ministries. 


Qualifications: 


  • Spiritual Maturity: A committed follower of Christ, exhibiting a life of integrity, humility, and godliness, with a passion for the glory of God and the advancement of His kingdom. 
  • Doctrinal Alignment: Strong alignment with the Grace Church doctrinal statement and ministry philosophy 
  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in a related field (theology, ministry, music, etc.) is preferred. Seminary training or equivalent theological education is a plus. 
  • Experience: Previous experience leading worship ministry is strongly preferred. Proven ability to lead a team and build a ministry that emphasizes biblical teaching, worship, and discipleship. 
  • Musical Ability: Proficiency in leading musical worship, with competence in playing an instrument (preferably piano or guitar) and directing a worship team. 
  • Pastoral Heart: Ability to shepherd, disciple, and provide spiritual guidance to worship ministry volunteers, as well as to model godly leadership. 
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with youth, volunteers, and the broader congregation.
