Hillsdale Free Methodist Church – Full Time

POSITION OVERVIEW

Provide Christ-centered leadership for ministry to children and families from birth through 5th grade. Recruit, train, develop, and deploy ministry leaders, and oversee systems that foster the spiritual formation and discipleship of children through Hillsdale Free Methodist Church.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Demonstrates a life of holiness and integrity consistent with the Free Methodist Book of Discipline ¶¶3402–3410.

• Fully committed to the mission of HFMC: "Revealing Christ's love to all ages through the transforming power of God's Word."

• Aligned with and actively living out the “Discipleship Essentials” of HFMC.

• Team player with a heart for kids and families, positive attitude, a strong grasp of Scripture, and a heart for building Christ’s Kingdom.

• Proven ability to build and lead teams, develop volunteers, and oversee effective ministry systems.

• Minimum of 4 years' experience working with children and family ministry or a related field.

• Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently.

• Strong communication and relational skills.

• Technologically adept and discerning in the use of social media and digital tools.

• A servant-leader who leads by example and equips others for ministry.

• Teachable, spiritually mature, and committed to ongoing growth.

EXPECTATIONS OBJECTIVES:

• Report to the Lead Pastor and Pastor’s Cabinet. Coordinate curriculum with Lead Pastor.

• Participate in and provide a written report to our Official Board bi-monthly.

• Maintain healthy boundaries between ministry responsibilities and personal life.

• Model spiritual maturity and integrity online and in person.

• Lead and oversee ministry to children through:

-Wednesday Night Kids Club – with a focus on reaching area children during the school year

-Sunday School Classes – year-round discipleship on Sunday mornings for children

-Children’s Church –during second service on Sundays

-Vacation Bible School – annual summer outreach to area kids

-Nursery oversight – during services and special events throughout the year

• Organize regular opportunities to recruit, train, develop, and deploy leaders who serve in children’s ministries.

• Support church-wide events and seasonal services as needed.

• Compile a monthly church newsletter update.

• Participate regularly in worship services to foster multi-generational unity.

• Attend Society Meetings and contribute as a committed leader within the church body.
