Student Minister

JOB DESCRIPTION:                        Student Minister

PRINCIPAL FUNCTION: The Student Minister leads FBC Athen’s ministry to students (6th-12th grade), endeavoring to lead them to maturity in Christ and living out the mission of the church to Love God, Love People, and Make Disciples. To that end, he is responsible for the overall planning, coordinating, promoting, and leading of a variety of programs and activities that will develop and strengthen the students in their Christian walk.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1.    Build deep, meaningful relationships with students.

2.    Build relationships with parents and families to partner with them in the discipleship of their students.

3.    Alongside the Senior Pastor, develop a holistic strategy for ministry to students.

4.    Plan, coordinate, and execute a yearly calendar for student ministry, including but not limited to:

a.    Wednesday nights

b.    Sunday morning

c.    Special events: Summer camp, Disciple-NOW Weekend, etc.

d.    Additional bible studies

5.    Provide robust biblical teaching and discipleship through Sunday School, Wednesday nights, and other avenues.

6.    Develop a dynamic Wednesday night program for students.

7.    Engage the local schools in reaching out to students.

8.    Engage in the overall life of the church as both a minister and a church member.

9.    Assist the other ministries of the church as needed.

10. Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
