Position: Union Church Worship Leader

6-8 Hours a week

Overview:

A great opportunity to join the Union Church Leadership Team. Due to the relocation of our long-time Music Director and Worship Leader, we are looking for a Worship Leader who wants to jump into this Ministry of Music and lead worship with enthusiasm. We have an existing worship team and would love for you to come and build upon the already great work that has been accomplished. We look forward to seeing what God has in store for our church through our new Worship Leader.

Position Summary:

This position will support the Pastor as Worship Leader and lead the Worship Team through weekly rehearsals and Sunday morning worship; as well as special services which include but are not limited to; Thanksgiving service, Maundy Thursday or Good Friday service and Christmas Eve. The Worship Leader must be able to lead worship either on Piano or Guitar.

Additional duties:

Providing special music as desired and some non-Sunday services (see above “Position Summary”), attend worship conferences as desired.

Key Responsibilities:

• Be in whole-hearted agreement with Union Church’s (UC) Statement of Faith, Church Covenant, Vision and Mission. Please see these documents attached (or see sofox.org)

• Lead and facilitate weekly rehearsals with the worship team

• Establish, build and maintain healthy, caring relationships with the worship team including excellent communication with a thoughtful team approach

• Provide communication with Pastor, Church Administrator and Worship Team surrounding music selection

• Build relationships with the church family

• Recruit, evaluate and approve new members for the worship team as needed

• Be part of leadership meetings

• As a key-holder, be trained in and review the Union Church Child Care Policy

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

• Committed, born-again Christian, Biblically knowledgeable, and of good reputation (1Timothy 3:1-7). In good standing with family and community

• Morally pure with a commitment to personal spiritual growth

• Possessing a genuine love for people with absolutely pure motivations, and models Christ’s love, grace and mercy through words and actions

• Gifted in connecting the church family with the worship of the Lord through music

• Communicate well with leadership of the church

Experience:

• Several years of experience either participating in a worship team or leading a worship team

• Able to lead Worship on piano or Guitar

Hours and Compensation: 6-8 hours a week. (7:30-11:30am Sunday mornings, 1-2 hours rehearsal mid-week, occasional mid-week service
