BCC CHILDREN’S MINISTRY DIRECTOR - JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Children’s Ministry Director

QUALIFICATIONS: Someone who loves Jesus, and loves to see children and families connect with God and the church, and someone that has experience with children and programming.

JOB GOAL: Introduce kids to Jesus! Help children grow spiritually and develop a strong faith foundation. Bring positive energy and creative ideas to oversee all aspects of discipleship of children from birth through 5th grade. We are seeking someone whose vision of children’s ministry meets the needs of our community.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a full time position (between 30-40 hours a week). Salary and work schedule to be determined by the Bartonville Christian Church Board of Elders and Deacons. Salary range $35,000-$40,000 depending on experience. Additional insurance allowance to be determined.

EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Pastors and Elders.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: With the help of God’s Holy Spirit, the job description of the Children’s Ministry Director at Bartonville Christian Church will include, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY DIRECTOR WILL OVERSEE THE FOLLOWING GENERAL WEEKLY REQUIREMENTS:

Kingdom Kids (K-5th grade) - Sunday Mornings

Recruit and manage volunteers.

Download, print and distribute lessons monthly.

Maintain and organize a teaching schedule.

Track attendance of children: K - 5th grade.

Communicate! With teachers, parents, church congregation, leadership!

Clean and set up the Kingdom Kids area weekly.

Decorate Kingdom Kids area monthly.

Monitor and maintain a check-in process, and collect and report data.

Preschool and Nursery

1. Recruit and manage volunteers.

2. Order and distribute preschool curriculum.

3. Manage nursery, preschool, and pre-K schedule.

4. Track attendance of all infant, preschool, and pre-K children.

5. Create Ministry Teams for a better quality nursery, preschool, and pre-K program.

6. Monitor and maintain a check-in process, and collect and report data.

Other Activities:

Regularly meet with the other staff to communicate, plan, and dream.

Organize Annual Events (VBS, Easter Egg Hunt, Christmas Events, Big Block Bash, etc.)

Trips (Superstart, Camp Little Galilee, Retreats)

Create ways for parents to create community with each other - MOPS, Parent night out?

Plan possible quarterly or monthly times to be together outside of church (McDonalds, Elevate, Parks, etc.)

Look for ways to be part of the church body.

Learn Planning Center, our church management software program.
