Senior Pastor

Our two-church parish is looking to fill the position of pastor.

Located in the Northwest corner of Missouri.

Responsibilities for pastor

• Meet with Staff regularly or as needed (Secretary/Pianist/Janitor/Nursery Attendants)

• Maintain Community Resource Lists

• Bachelor’s or working toward (Christian Education or Bible major helpful, but not necessary)

• Demonstrate effectiveness as a disciple maker

• Have strong organizational/communication skills

• Possess spiritual giftedness in the areas of leadership and teaching

• Be in contact with and in prayer for those in distress, including acute distress (grief and other loss or change) and ongoing needs (chronic conditions leading to isolation and loneliness)

• Offer intensive, pastoral care for families and individuals as needed

• Make Eucharistic visits and phone calls to shut-ins and members and friends who are

hospitalized or in care in coordination with Pastoral Staff and Congregational Care

• Follow up and assess continuing need for care, working with other staff and laity in providing ongoing support

• Participate in funerals and memorial services as needed

• Build relationships with congregants

• Be able to juggle multiple tasks and changing priorities without becoming frustrated

• Help with computer and operating system when necessary

• Administrative experience preferred

• Positive and flexible attitude, excellent people skills and a strong work ethic

• Team builder who enjoys developing teams and working in a team environment

• Follow through with programs and projects

Qualifications for pastor

• Preference for Wesleyan theological tradition, but not mandatory

• Training and/or experience with children and youth ministries helpful

• Seminary theologically aligned with the Wesleyan theological tradition preferred

• Counseling and grief work

• Bachelor’s degree or pursuing theological studies, and licensed or otherwise credentialed in

ministerial duties such as communion/weddings/baptisms

• Salary dependent on experience and education
