Youth & Children's Pastor

Position Summary:

The Youth and Children’s Pastor will oversee, grow, and lead all ministries related to children and youth (4 years of age through high school). This role includes direct involvement with children and students, building strong relationships with families, training volunteers, and engaging the community through local schools, sports, and events. The successful candidate will have a heart for discipleship, a passion for outreach, and the ability to connect with kids, teens, and their families in a meaningful and lasting way. The position may be bi-vocational with the completion of all key responsibilities. This position requires adherence to the church’s biblical qualifications for pastoral leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

•     Lead and oversee the AWANA program, including planning, volunteer coordination, and weekly execution.

•     Direct and grow a dynamic youth ministry (grades 7–12) that includes weekly gatherings, discipleship, outreach, and special events.

•     Build and expand the children’s ministry (4 years of age through 6th grade) with age-appropriate teaching, activities, and worship.

•     Recruit, train, and organize a team of volunteers for children and youth programs.

•     Foster relationships with families, helping parents become partners in their children's spiritual development.

•     Engage with local schools, youth sports leagues, and community events to create outreach and partnership opportunities.

•     Attend and help plan church camps, retreats, and mission trips for youth and children.

•     Participate in and attend weekly worship services and church functions.

•     Collaborate with pastoral staff and church leadership to ensure alignment with the overall mission and vision of Center Hill Baptist Church, reporting directly to the senior pastor.

Qualifications:

•     A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to a Christ-like lifestyle.

•     Passion for ministering to children, youth, and families.

•     Experience leading or working in youth and/or children’s ministry (preferred).

•     Ability to teach the Bible clearly and effectively to multiple age groups.

•     Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.

•     Relational and outgoing with a heart for the community.

•     Willingness to submit to church leadership and align with Missionary Baptist doctrine.

•     Must pass a background check.

•     Because of our church’s complementarian theological convictions, the youth pastor role is open to male applicants who meet the biblical qualifications for pastoral leadership.

Compensation:

Compensation to include salary, housing, and utilities. Salary is $18,000 per year and is commensurate with experience and the financial capacity of the church.  Housing is a two bedroom furnished apartment located on church grounds. Utilities included will be electric, water, and internet.
