Position Title: Missions Pastor (Full-Time)

Position Summary
The Missions Pastor at Riverland Hills Baptist Church provides leadership and pastoral oversight for all local, regional, and global missions efforts. This role champions the church’s calling to make disciples by mobilizing the congregation to live on mission—serving others, sharing the Gospel, and engaging the world with the love of Christ.
The Missions Pastor plays a key role in advancing Riverland Hills’ mission by creating clear pathways for every member to participate in outreach and by cultivating strategic partnerships that extend the church’s impact beyond its walls.
Key Responsibilities
Vision & Alignment
- Lead and implement a mission strategy that aligns with Riverland Hills’ mission to make disciples and its vision for transformational community impact
- Ensure all mission efforts reflect the church’s core values and ministry philosophy
- Regularly evaluate effectiveness and provide direction for growth and refinement
Local & Regional Engagement
- Oversee community outreach initiatives and partnerships within the Midlands and surrounding areas
- Identify opportunities to serve, support, and engage local needs in meaningful, Gospel-centered ways
- Equip members to live missionally in their everyday lives
Global Missions
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with global mission partners
- Evaluate and recommend new partnerships aligned with church priorities
- Lead and coordinate short-term mission trips that foster long-term impact
Congregational Mobilization
- Recruit, train, and shepherd volunteers for mission involvement
- Create clear next steps for members to engage in outreach opportunities
- Collaborate with ministry leaders to integrate missions into all areas of church life
Leadership Development
- Identify and develop leaders within the missions ministry
- Provide coaching, training, and spiritual support to team leaders and volunteers
- Foster a culture where missions are owned by the whole church, not just a ministry
Administration & Stewardship
- Oversee the mission's budget with integrity and strategic focus
- Ensure responsible stewardship and clear communication of financial support to partners
- Maintain organized systems for tracking engagement, trips, and partnerships
Teaching & Communication
- Communicate the vision and impact of missions regularly through services, events, and digital platforms
- Share stories that inspire participation and generosity
- Preach or teach as requested, especially on outreach, evangelism, and living on mission
Qualifications
- A clear and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a calling to pastoral ministry
- Alignment with Riverland Hills Baptist Church’s doctrine, mission, and values
- Bachelor’s degree required; seminary or theological training preferred
- 5+ years of SBC ministry experience, with SBC missions or outreach leadership
- Strong leadership, relational, and organizational skills
- Effective communicator with the ability to teach and inspire
- Cross-cultural ministry experience is highly valued

Work Schedule
- Full-time, including evenings and weekends as required
