Pastor

Our church with approximately 25-35 attendees is looking for a senior pastor candidate who will step up to lead the congregation of the church and is dedicated to the fulfilment of the Great Commission and growing the community of Christ. We believe that the candidate should know that this is their calling that God has for them, have relevant education and experience of at least 2-5 years of working in ministry, has a heart for local and global missions, is a good Biblical overseer that can lead our church staff, can be a mentor to those in the congregation and a mentor to those on the staff as well as being open to being mentored himself. They must also display great spiritual leadership qualities and be diligent in fulfilling the Great Commission as outlined by Matthew 28:16-20.

What you will be doing:

Teaching and preaching to the main congregation

Overseeing the spiritual health of the church

Overseeing all areas of ministry

Providing pastoral care to those in need

Engaging in and promoting community within the church

Qualities and skills needed:

A heart for the gospel and Jesus

Relevant education and experience

Be able to communicate clearly and effectively

Biblical leadership skills

A passion for people of all ages.

Strict adherence to our Church Constitution and Belief statement is mandatory.

We offer a competitive salary and there is a Church Parsonage available.

In the early 1800’s a group of sea captains got together and decided that this small coastal village needed a church. In 1854 the Stockton Springs Community Church opened their doors. Perched upon a hill, it’s steeple can been be seen from Stockton Harbor and the surrounding area.

For the last 163 years Stockton Springs Community Church has been a beacon to help guide seekers to find the hope that is found in the Lord Jesus Christ.

We are a church full of ordinary people. We are fathers, mothers, friends and family. We understand the need of love and grace. Our history spans over 163 years of sharing both the joys of life as well as life’s battles.

We have a deep love for the Word of God. We know that it has the answers to today’s very complicated issues.
