Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

Revival Christian Church is a non-denominational Christian church firmly rooted in the authority and sufficiency of Scripture. We are a close-knit family of believers seeking a part-time Youth Ministry Leader who is passionate about discipling the next generation and helping young people develop a genuine, lifelong faith in Jesus Christ.

In our smaller church setting, the Youth Ministry Leader plays a vital role in building a vibrant, biblically grounded youth ministry while also supporting the overall life of the church. This is a relational, hands-on position ideal for someone who loves teenagers, excels at teaching God's Word in relevant ways, and thrives in a family-like church environment.

Estimated Weekly Hours: 10-15 hours (flexible based on programming needs; bi-vocational candidates are welcome).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Youth Discipleship & Teaching: Lead weekly youth group meetings (middle school and/or high school) with engaging, biblically faithful teaching and discussion. Organize Bible studies, discipleship groups, and mentoring relationships to help students grow in their knowledge of Scripture and walk with Christ.

•    Worship & Spiritual Formation: Plan and lead age-appropriate worship experiences, retreats, camps, and special events. Assist with or occasionally participate in main Sunday worship services (e.g., occasional youth-led elements or preaching in youth settings).

•    Relational Ministry: Build authentic relationships with students and their families. Provide biblical counseling, support, and guidance for youth facing challenges. Maintain regular communication through texts, social media, and in-person connection.

•    Outreach & Evangelism: Develop and lead outreach efforts aimed at unchurched students in the community. Partner with parents and the broader church to create a welcoming environment for new students.

•   Collaboration & Church Support: Work closely with the Lead Pastor and volunteer leaders. Help integrate youth into the larger church family. Recruit, train, and equip adult volunteers for youth ministry. Assist with general church needs as appropriate in a small-church context (e.g., occasional preaching, events, or family ministry).

•    Parent Partnership: Communicate regularly with parents and equip them to disciple their children at home.

QUALIFICATIONS

•    Spiritual: Clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ. Demonstrates a growing personal walk with the Lord and aligns with the church's biblical statement of faith. Meets key character qualifications for ministry leadership (1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, and 1 Timothy 4:12).

•   Theological: Committed to teaching and applying Scripture faithfully. Able to communicate biblical truth clearly and relevantly to teenagers without compromising sound doctrine.

•   Experience & Gifting: Previous experience in youth ministry (paid or volunteer) is strongly preferred. A heart for teenagers and proven ability to build relationships and lead discipleship. Seminary degree or formal biblical training is a plus but not required if the candidate shows strong biblical knowledge and ministry fruitfulness.

•    Personal: Relational, energetic, approachable, and trustworthy. Excellent communication skills with both students and adults. Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage part-time responsibilities effectively. Background check and safe-church training will be required.

WHAT WE OFFER

•    Salaried compensation commensurate with experience starting at $150 per week paid biweekly.

•    Opportunity to invest deeply in the lives of young people in a smaller, relational church setting.

•    Supportive Lead Pastor, lay leaders, and volunteers who value youth ministry.

•    Flexibility is suitable for someone who may also work another job or be in school.

HOW TO APPLY

Please submit the following:

•    Cover letter sharing your calling to youth ministry and why you're excited about a small-church context.

•    Resume or ministry CV.

•    Links to or recordings of recent teaching/sermons to youth {if available).

•    References {including at least one pastoral or youth ministry reference).

We are excited to find the right person God is calling to pour into our students and help raise up the next generation of faithful followers of Christ. If you love Jesus, love teenagers, and thrive in a biblical, close-knit church family, we would love to hear from you!
