Children’s Ministry Director
Position Summary
The Children’s Ministry Director creates an engaging, welcoming, organized, and spiritually impactful ministry for children and families through leadership of Sunday programming, children’s worship, volunteer development, parent engagement, discipleship, and ministry environments.
The ideal candidate is relational, energetic, organized, creative, and capable of building both systems and culture.
Primary Responsibilities
Sunday Experience + Worship
- Lead the overall Sunday children’s ministry experience for 10 am service
- Coordinate weekly large group worship and engagement time for children
- Coordinate/schedule train teachers and helpers for individual class environments (B-K, 1-3, 4-6) – games, scriptures activities, interactive teaching
- Coordinate entry music, signage, decorations, and atmospheric elements
- Help create strong positive first impressions for visiting families
- Collaborate with Lead Pastor around Children’s Ministry Holiday Service involvement
Congregational Engagement
- Children’s Ministry Director participation in congregational services regularly
Examples may include:
- Communications/announcements
- Baptisms/testimonies/scripture memory recitation
- Coordinate with media team to showcase children’s environments
Parent + Family Engagement
- Build strong relationships with parents and caregivers
- Welcome and follow up with first-time families
- Maintain regular communication regarding ministry updates and events
- Coordinate seasonal events that support parents and children (date night, movie nights, parent classes)
Midweek + Digital Engagement
- Oversee/staff midweek childcare environments as needed
- Coordinate simple weekly or bi-monthly content for children and families
- Help maintain engagement throughout the week through communication and content
- Attend Tuesday AM prayer (2x/month) and Tuesday AM staff meeting (2x/month)
Environment + Volunteer Leadership
- Help maintain engaging and welcoming ministry environments including playground and family spaces
- Recruit, schedule, and develop teachers, helpers, volunteers
- Build healthy volunteer culture and team morale
- Ensure ministry spaces remain clean, safe, organized, and visually inviting
Desired Qualifications
- Strong relational and communication skills
- Positive, energetic, and welcoming personality
- Organized and dependable
- Comfortable leading groups and speaking publicly
- Proficient in Microsoft suite, Google suite, Planning Center, Clearstream, Mailchimp, social media, simple graphic design & simple video editing
- Ability to build culture, engagement, and systems
- Some college
Prior experience in children’s ministry, volunteer leadership, worship leadership, or family ministry
Formal ministry education is not required.
Alignment with SRCC’s Doctrine and philosophy of ministry required. Become a member of the church.

Position: Part-Time (25 hours per week)
Compensation: $30/hour
Reports To: Lead Pastor
