Job Description

Growing multi-site church in the heart of Nashville looking for a growth-minded leader to serve in the full-time dual role of Learning Center & Children’s Ministry Director. The Learning Center is our weekday preschool program. Our Nashville Learning Center director will work in conjunction with Franklin and Nolensville directors to launch a brand new program [fall 2021] at our Nashville location. As the Children’s Ministry Director, this person will serve alongside our pastoral staff and family ministry team to execute preschool and children’s ministry programs and initiatives at the Nashville Campus. Candidates must be annoyingly organized, wildly creative, and have a heart for kids of all ages. Being a TN Titans fan is a plus. Definitely not required. Local applicants only (no relocation package).


OBJECTIVE


The Rolling Hills Learning Center (RHLC) Director's portion of this role is to build and maintain a preschool program that develops the whole child, points children to Jesus, sparks imagination, builds self-esteem, fosters learning through play, develops an attitude of service, and helps children discover new things each day. 


The Children’s Director portion of this role is responsible for the development and implementation of the vision, strategy, and tactical elements for all programs, activities, and educational aspects related to Children's Ministry at Rolling Hills Community Church, Nashville Campus. They are to execute the Rolling Hills family ministry strategy at the Nashville campus in developing a ministry that teaches children the basic truths about God, laying a firm foundation for those children to accept Christ as their Savior.


This position will work under the direct supervision of the Nashville Campus Pastor, and indirect supervision of the Central Kids Director, Central Preschool Director and Central Learning Center Director.

LEARNING CENTER DIRECTOR RESPONSIBILITIES


Administration:

  • Act as a liaison between the RHCC Nashville staff, the RHLC Nashville staff, and preschool families.
  • Communicate with parents via email, phone, formal and informal meetings, and newsletters.
  • Supervise student registration and enrollment.
  • Maintain a variety of records, including but not limited to registrations, medical records, student and staff records, and accident reports.


Operation:

  • Assume responsibility for the daily planning and operation of RHLC Nashville.
  • Facilitate preparation for and implementation of special events.
  • Manage program attendance for staff and students.


Supervision and Personnel:

  • Recruit, select, and hire staff to teach at the RHLC Nashville (including substitute teachers).
  • Prepare and process teacher covenants.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings (team building and staff collaboration).
  • Outline expectations for and monitor communications from teachers to parents.


Curriculum and Instruction:

  • Collaborate with teachers to plan instructional activities and lessons, which promote developmentally appropriate academic and Biblical student learning.
  • Supervise implementation of preschool curriculum.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to remain current on issues and trends in early childhood education and use this information to improve instructional strategies at RHLC Nashville.


Facilities and Safety:

  • Monitor the safety of students, staff, and facility including equipment and play areas.
  • Complete and maintain CPR and First Aid certification.


Financial:

  • Work with the Franklin campus and Nolensville campus LC Directors and the RH Central Finance Department to develop and adhere to an annual budget that includes enrollment, salaries, facilities, and supplies.
  • Plan and implement fundraisers as warranted to support budget responsibilities and student enrichment.
  • Provide classroom teachers with a monthly supply budget and reconcile those accounts.


Marketing and Development:

  • In conjunction with support from the RHCC Central Communication team, develop a marketing strategy for the LC to recruit and maintain enrollment and staffing as well as a positive image of the program within the community.


CHILDREN’S DIRECTOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee all ministry programming for children [birth to fifth grade] including Sunday mornings and other special events; developing a ministry that teaches children the basic truths about God, laying a firm foundation for those children to accept Christ as their savior. 
  • Ensure that appropriate safety and security procedures are established and followed including volunteer applications and interviews, criminal background checks on all volunteers, and regular training on abuse awareness, hygiene practices, and safety and security practices.
  • Develop and oversee the preschool/children’s ministry budget.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and lead volunteers to plan and implement Sunday morning ministry worship and discipleship environments.
  • Work with Central Family Ministry Team members and administrative personnel to secure curriculum, resources, and other teaching supplies as needed.
  • Attend and participate in regular All Staff, Family Ministry Team, and Nashville Campus Meetings as needed and available. 
  • Implement Mile Marker strategy for kids and families to experience Family Dedication as well as Baptism and Belief classes at the Nashville Campus.
  • Work with the Family Ministry Team and Nashville Campus Team in planning and implementing community outreach events including but not limited to VBS and other seasonal outreach opportunities.
  • Involve children and their families in local and national mission’s projects.
  • Provide care for children, their families, and volunteer teams personally and spiritually.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Early childhood education, elementary education, or child development, while not necessary, is preferred.
  • Minimum of three years working with children in preschool or other venues. Management experience is preferred.
  • Must be a professing Christian with a true calling and passion for ministry.
  • Excellent communication and relationship skills.
  • Software proficiency.
