RESPONSIBILITIES: The Pastor will be the primary leader, and visionary of Ronceverte Baptist Church. He will take a leadership role as the church seeks to fulfill its purpose to maintain the public worship of God and promote Christian ministry and service. The Pastor should, under the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, preach His Word and spread the Gospel so that sinners may be saved and believers edified.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Be qualified for the office according to the Biblical qualifications of I Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9
Be able to communicate a comprehensive understanding of the Bible and Christian theology in terms relevant to people's lives.
Support the preaching ministry with time for preparation/reflection on the Word, and the commitment to listen for the Word's power and its implications for individuals, the church, and the community.
Seek to lead persons to make decisions for Christ encouraging their identification with and participation in the local church/community.
Develop and maintain existing programs and the vision and ministry for church growth.
Provide counseling for individuals, couples, families, or groups to enter a healing relationship.
Be willing and available to visit with church members or others in their homes or other settings.
Support and encourage mission endeavors at home or abroad.
Have a vital walk with Jesus Christ demonstrated by faithfulness, passion, and a clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ.
Uphold and abide by the church constitution and by-laws.
Have the potential and desire to remain in a long-term ministry.
Have previous successful ministry experience.
Be properly ordained.
Degree in Divinity or Theology preferred.
