·       The church appreciates a man who loves God’s Word and its truth plainly spoken, so experience in delivering a solid message is essential.

·       We need a Pastor who loves kids and teens and appreciates the challenges of working on solutions for ministry to them.

Our congregation has many “seasoned saints” who have been in all kinds of ministries over the years. Our approach to ministry has always been team oriented and we know that many hands make light work. Our next Pastor might not be gifted in some areas like music or administration, but he should be secure in his calling as lead Pastor and in his knowledge of leading God’s people. Our desire is to be the body of Christ and to reflect in all areas of ministry that essential truth, from the Pastor through the rest of the church.

Worship

·       Our Worship service has an average attendance of 115 people per week. Congregants, the Senior Pastor and Lay leaders conduct the service. Nursery and Children’s church is available during the service.

·       The message is always biblically sound and pertinent to the circumstances surrounding us each day. We heed to the Holy Spirit’s guidance as He touch people’s lives in tangible ways to draw them closer to Christ.

·       Our Sunday school classes are from 9:30-10:30 am, offering a class for co-ed adults and one just for ladies (a more intimate setting). We have a 15 minute time for fellowship prior to the Worship service from 10:45- 12:00 pm. This a great time to gather before and then after the service for fellowship and to foster relationships. An usher will greet you with a welcome and a bulletin and show you to the sanctuary which has a capacity of 400 comfortable seats.

·       The service commences with a call to worship. An opening song sets the tone for the rest of the service, followed by welcome and announcements. An invocation is asked, and then a responsive reading is shared. Songs of testimony and praise are sung and a time for tithes and offerings is observed. We include congregational prayer with requests from international workers and world events. Sermons are recorded and posted to our Facebook page and website. After the message, we close with another song and a benediction. * Opportunity is given for prayer and asking Jesus to be Lord and Savior of our lives. The pastor is joined by the deacons and deaconesses when needed. Communion is served on the first Sunday of the month.

·       We have special music on occasion and we celebrate special services such as: baptisms in our built in baptismal, baby dedications, membership, Christmas Eve Candlelight Service, Palm Sunday, Good Friday, Easter, Missions Conference, July 4th Patriotic Concert celebration along with quarterly and annual business meetings.

·       The songs we use are a mix of hymns and contemporary music and occasionally we have singing with a guitarist, a pianist, brass accompaniment and organ. We welcome people with musical talent to join us. The Power Point system allows the words to be displayed for all to see. The songs we share reflect the truth of the message or highlight the occasion being celebrated. We want to worship with our hearts and voices, giving Him the praise for all He is.

·       Our worship service is designed to build up, encourage and challenge the congregation to grow in their faith so that they can fulfill their commission of living for Jesus and making disciples.

Discipleship

We believe in the great commission laid out in Matthew 28:18-20. To go and make disciples, teaching and equipping them for their journey with Christ.  We have prayer meeting on Wednesday nights with an average of 35 people attending. We are always looking for ways to develop our outreach and cultivate our relationships to be closer to God. We desire a Pastor who would have experience or skills to help us transform ministries from reaching and being disciples to making disciples in our county of WV and the world.

Fellowship

Sunday morning is not only for Worship but for fellowship. We have fellowship luncheons, an Annual Picnic, a Harvest Festival, ladies and men’s breakfasts and more. During Vacation Bible School we provide a meal for all who come.

Missions

·       We are very missions oriented and have a Mission’s Conference once a year when an International Worker is available. We have many opportunities to meet and have them share what God is doing around the world. We traditionally support this ministry by giving 10% of our total budget. Some other mission’s projects we do are Operation Christmas Child, luncheons for bereaved families, and dinners for sick and recovering people.

·       The Deacons minister through the benevolent fund in many ways; usually to serve the congregation but sometimes the community.

Stewardship

We have been mortgage free for many years, which allows is to be a giving church. A lot of the maintenance in the church is done by volunteers. Many skilled people are members of the congregation and are a wonderful blessing. We use donations by our congregants to pay for most improvement projects. A benevolent fund, that our Deacons oversee, helps to meet needs in our church people and the community. By extending help to the community, we are able to counsel them with hopes of discipling them as well.
