Pastor Job Description - Merritt's Chapel 

Merritt's Chapel is prayerfully seeking a God-called, Spirit-filled Pastor who is 

passionate about preaching the Word, shepherding the flock, and leading our congregation into its next season of ministry. This is a full-time leadership position that offers the opportunity to preach the Gospel with conviction and cultivate a culture of discipleship. 

The right candidate will not merely fill a role - they will embrace a calling. We are looking for a pastor who preaches from the Bible, leads with humility and vision, who cares deeply for people, and who is committed to sharing in the life and ministries of the local church family as the primary vehicle for God's Kingdom work on earth. 

EDUCATION 

Formal theological education: a seminary degree is preferred. 

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR 

• Preach and teach the Word of God faithfully, clearly, and consistently from the pulpit and in other ministry settings.

• Foster a culture of prayer, spiritual growth, and biblical discipleship across all generations.

• Promotes a culture of servant-hearted leadership to the congregation, staff, and ministry leaders.

• Shepherds and provides pastoral care for the congregation, including visitation, counseling, and bereavement support.

• Lead the church in Bible studies, Baptism, Confirmation and Communion.

• Encourage evangelism, community outreach, and local and global missions.

• Represent Christ and Merritt's Chapel with grace and integrity in the community.

• Collaborate with the Leadership Team in the administration and governance of the church.
