About Us
Embassy City is a Spirit-led church that teaches God’s Word and provides authentic worship, inside a radically welcoming, safe, multi-cultural community. We want to become known as the place where anyone can grow in Christ with others, forming modern saints who transform the world around them.
The Opportunity
This is a builder role for someone who wants to shape the next chapter of a fast-growing church. You’re here to own the full production capabilities for a growing, multi-generational church of 2,000–2,500 weekly attendees, three Sunday services, 50+ production volunteers, and a significant investment in production equipment.
We see Production as ministry and believe the Production team plays a vital role in creating an atmosphere where people can engage with God free of distractions. Every technical decision either helps or hinders what God wants to do in the room and online.
You’ll partner directly with our Chief Marketing Officer to shape a production experience that is scalable and top-notch. We want a Production Director who can turn a strong foundation into a repeatable, excellent weekend experience, then keep raising the bar.
This position comes with a clear mandate:
- To deliver excellent worship services week in and week out
- To build and scale a strong volunteer culture
- To drive inhouse production capabilities to move us forward into the future
If you can also lead Systems (Planning Center Online) and IT oversight (via vendor partnership), that’s a homerun but Production is the non-negotiable core capability.
What You Will Own (In Priority Order)
1. Production Leadership (primary)
- You own the full inhouse production capabilities across in-room, offline and online
- Lead weekly execution across audio (FOH + broadcast), lighting, video, ProPresenter and Pro Video Player (PVP)
- Direct and improve broadcast quality and visual language (shots, pacing, transitions, lighting looks, graphics discipline)
- Support Creative team through inhouse videography and editing as needed
- Build reliable service run-of-show, rehearsals, and “what-if” failure plans
- Maintain and improve our broadcast and video switching environment (ATEM ecosystem and routing)
- Keep systems stable through documentation, checklists, maintenance routines, and clean handoffs
- Lead upgrades and improvements that increase clarity, consistency, and creative impact
- Steward budget, vendors, and equipment lifecycle with strong judgment
2. People and Volunteer Culture (core expectation)
- Build a volunteer bench that is deep, trained, scheduled, and happy to serve
- Create role clarity, training paths, and leadership development for volunteers
- Recruit consistently, not only when you’re short-handed
- Set a culture of excellence without ego, pressure, or confusion
3. Systems (Planning Center discipline) (secondary)
- You’ll drive operational clarity that keeps ministry teams aligned
- Own Planning Center usage for production planning and scheduling rhythms
- Clean up calendar and workflow discipline so Sunday and events are predictable
- Train key leaders on lightweight processes that reduce last-minute chaos
- Provide simple reporting that helps leadership prioritize
4. IT Oversight (bonus, “homerun”)
- If you can also lead IT priorities well, it’s a major win.
- IT execution is supported by our vendor partner (Technagy)
- You are the on-site owner for prioritization, escalation, and weekend readiness
- Not a ticket machine. A leader who keeps systems reliable.
Who You Are
- You are an operator and a builder. Creative and technical, but still love volunteers and the mission.
- A problem-solver. You diagnose root causes and prevent repeat issues.
- A builder. You develop people and systems that outlast you.
- You thrive under pressure. You don’t flinch when it breaks – you fix it.
- You care about spiritual impact. You know when to lower the lights and let God do what only He can.
Desired Experience
Required:
- 5+ years in church or live production
- Hands-on experience with FOH, broadcast audio & video, lighting, ProPresenter, PVP, and video production
- Track record leading volunteer teams
- Strong communication, time management and problem-solving ability
Preferred:
- Advanced technical production experience (ATEM, camera direction, shading, switching, streaming workflows, LED wall workflows, and streaming infrastructure)
- Planning Center power-user
- IT partnership experience with an MSP or similar
- Adobe, Mac OS/iOS, video production and digital content workflows
Position Details
- Must align with Embassy City Church beliefs and Statement Of Faith (to be provided upon request)
- You must be or become a member of Embassy City Church.
- You’ll report to the Chief Marketing Officer, not a worship pastor or admin. That means clear priorities, real strategy, and budget advocacy.
- You’ll be on-site and active every Sunday, and for special services/key rehearsals.
- This is a physical role—walking, lifting (20+ lbs), and early Sundays are part of the deal.
- You’ll be supported. We’re growing fast and building something real.
