Youth Pastor — Calvary Marana

Calvary Marana is seeking a full-time Youth Pastor to help shepherd and disciple the next generation of believers and their families.

Calvary Marana is a growing three year-old church plant within the Calvary movement, located in the northwest Tucson area. We are a fellowship committed to the simple teaching of God’s Word, the work of the Holy Spirit, authentic community, and raising up disciples who know Jesus and make Him known.

We are seeking a pastor with a genuine love for Jesus, a heart for students and families, and a passion to faithfully teach the Bible chapter by chapter while building meaningful relationships within the church body. This person should be creative, relational, servant-hearted, and able to cultivate an environment where students are grounded in Scripture, connected in fellowship, and encouraged to grow in their walk with Christ.

Our desire is to see parents equipped to disciple their children at home and for our youth ministry to become an extension of healthy Christian family life rather than a replacement for it.

Qualifications

●    Must be a born-again follower of Jesus Christ and in agreement with the core beliefs and values of the Calvary movement.

●    Must demonstrate a clear calling to pastoral ministry and specifically to serving within our church body.

●    Experience in ministry, preferably in children’s or youth ministry.

●    A life and moral character consistent with the qualifications of church leadership found in First Epistle to Timothy 3:1–7.

●    Teachable, humble, and committed to servant leadership.

●    A heart for discipleship, prayer, and the faithful teaching of Scripture.

Competencies

●    Ability to teach and lead a Christ-centered youth ministry grounded in the Word of God.

●    Relational and approachable personality that connects well with students, parents, and people from varying backgrounds.

●    Ability to recruit, disciple, organize, and oversee volunteers.

●    Solid understanding of Biblical doctrine and the ability to communicate Scripture clearly and practically.

●    Ability to develop curriculum and ministry structure for students ranging from preschool through high school.

●    Ability to teach children, youth, and adults in various ministry settings.

●    Ability to shepherd students and support parents spiritually and relationally.

●    Humility to receive feedback and accountability from church leadership, parents, and ministry volunteers.

●    Vision and initiative to prayerfully grow and strengthen the youth ministry.

●    Administrative and organizational skills are preferred.

Duties

●    Develop and oversee curriculum for children’s and student ministries from preschool through high school.

●    Serve as part of the church leadership team and elder board.

●    Disciple and shepherd ministry volunteers while cultivating unity and spiritual growth within the team.

●    Minister to families within the church through prayer, encouragement, counseling, and relational connection.

●    Teach younger students during Sunday services and other ministry gatherings.

●    Lead youth gatherings, fellowship events, outreach opportunities, camps, and ministry activities.

●    Help cultivate a culture of worship, discipleship, and servant leadership among students.

●    Partner with parents in helping students grow in their faith and understanding of God’s Word.

Schedule

●    Average 40 hour work week.

●    Typical schedule is Sunday through Thursday, with weekend and holiday availability for church events, camps, conferences, and ministry activities.

Compensation

We are offering a base salary in the $50,000–$60,000 range plus benefits. Compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, and the needs of the church.
