Campus Pastor-Kingsville, Tx

The Kingsville Campus Pastor serves as the primary pastoral and ministry leader of the Kingsville Campus. This individual provides leadership in the areas of preaching, pastoral care, volunteer recruitment and development, campus ministry, and community outreach.

The Campus Pastor is responsible for leading the campus with clarity and initiative while remaining fully aligned with the mission, vision, doctrine, ministry philosophy, and direction of BT Church. This requires the ability to hold two important responsibilities in healthy tension: providing strong local leadership while faithfully submitting to the vision and direction established by the Lead Pastors and elders of BT Church.

Because the Kingsville Campus is located approximately 100 miles from the campus where most central staff offices are located, the Campus Pastor must be especially intentional about communication, collaboration, staff relationships, and participation in the broader life of BT Church.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who loves people, is passionate about preaching God’s Word, develops leaders, engages the surrounding community, and desires to see the Kingsville Campus grow in both spiritual maturity and community impact.

Primary Responsibilities

Preaching and Spiritual Leadership

• Preach and teach regularly at the Kingsville Campus in alignment with the preaching calendar, doctrine, vision, and ministry direction of BT Church.

• Communicate biblical truth with clarity, theological faithfulness, practical application, and pastoral sensitivity.

• Support and reinforce the vision and ministry priorities established by the Lead Pastors.

• Provide spiritual leadership that encourages people to follow Jesus, grow in biblical maturity, connect with the church, serve others, and live on mission.

• Participate in church-wide sermon planning, ministry conversations, training, and leadership development as requested.

Pastoral Care

• Serve as the primary pastoral presence for the members and regular attendees of the Kingsville Campus.

• Provide pastoral counseling, prayer, hospital visitation, crisis care, and support during significant life events.

• Perform weddings, funerals, baptisms, and other pastoral responsibilities as needed and in accordance with BT Church policies.

• Identify individuals and families who need care and coordinate with church-wide ministry teams when additional support is needed.• Develop and equip volunteers and ministry leaders to help provide appropriate care for the campus congregation.

Campus Leadership

• Provide clear leadership and direction for the ministries and weekly operations of the Kingsville Campus.

• Help create a welcoming, healthy, and spiritually engaging environment for guests, members, volunteers, and staff.

• Ensure that weekend services and campus ministries reflect the standards, values, and ministry philosophy of BT Church.

• Identify campus needs, ministry opportunities, challenges, and areas requiring additional support.

• Work collaboratively with BT Church team leads and central ministry staff to address campus needs and advance ministry priorities.

• Implement church-wide initiatives faithfully and effectively within the Kingsville context.

• Regularly evaluate campus health, ministry effectiveness, volunteer engagement, and opportunities for growth.

Volunteer Recruitment and Development

• Recruit, develop, encourage, and retain volunteers for the ministries of the Kingsville Campus.

• Identify emerging leaders and provide them with meaningful opportunities to serve and grow.

• Build healthy ministry teams characterized by spiritual maturity, unity, excellence, hospitality, and commitment to the mission of BT Church.

• Ensure volunteers receive appropriate training, communication, care, and accountability.

• Create a culture in which people are invited to discover their gifts and use them in service to Christ and His church.Community Outreach and Growth

• Develop meaningful relationships with community leaders, schools, businesses, nonprofit organizations, Texas A&M University–Kingsville, and other local partners.

• Represent BT Church with integrity, humility, and a genuine commitment to the well- being of the Kingsville community.

• Identify and lead outreach efforts that meet local needs and create opportunities to share the gospel.

• Develop strategies to reach families, university students, young adults, military-connected individuals, and other groups within the community.

• Lead the campus toward healthy spiritual and numerical growth without compromising the mission, values, or ministry philosophy of BT Church.

• Encourage the congregation to live missionally and participate personally in evangelism, service, and community engagement.

Communication and Staff Alignment

• Maintain consistent and proactive communication with the supervising pastor, central ministry leaders, and other BT Church staff.

• Provide regular updates regarding campus attendance, ministry progress, pastoral needs, volunteer development, challenges, and opportunities.

• Participate in staM meetings, training events, retreats, planning sessions, and other church-wide gatherings as required.

• Build strong relationships with pastors, staM members, and ministry leaders across all BT Church campuses.

• Receive direction, coaching, evaluation, and feedback with humility and a teachable spirit.

• Protect the unity of the church by communicating clearly, addressing concerns appropriately, and supporting agreed-upon decisions.

Leadership Expectations

The Kingsville Campus Pastor is expected to:

• Model biblical integrity in personal, family, financial, and ministry life.• Support the doctrine, mission, vision, values, and leadership structure of BT Church.

• Lead with initiative while remaining accountable to the direction of the Lead Pastors and elders.

• Value collaboration and resist operating independently from the broader church.

• Demonstrate emotional maturity, relational wisdom, humility, and self-awareness.

• Communicate consistently and effectively, particularly because of the geographic distance between the Kingsville Campus and the central staff offices.

• Build trust through dependability, honesty, follow-through, and healthy relationships.

• Maintain appropriate confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in pastoral matters.

• Participate actively in the worship services, ministry rhythms, and staff culture of BT Church.
