Lead worship that helps people encounter Christ. First Baptist Church Americus is seeking a spiritually mature, musically gifted, and collaborative leader to shape Christ-centered, biblically grounded worship. This full-time role may be filled as Director or Minister of Worship Ministry, based on the candidate’s calling, qualifications, experience, and the church’s needs.

About the Role

Working closely with the Senior Pastor and church staff, this leader will guide weekly worship, rehearsals, special services, and volunteer development—cultivating a ministry marked by prayer, excellence, unity, and theological integrity.

Reports to: Associate Pastor of Administration and Missions, with ministry guidance from the Senior Pastor.

What You’ll Do

·       Plan and lead biblically faithful, engaging worship services in partnership with the Senior Pastor and ministry team.

·       Choose and adapt songs, Scripture, prayers, and service elements that support the church’s mission and invite congregational participation.

·       Recruit, equip, schedule, and encourage musicians, vocalists, audio-visual team members, and other volunteers.

·       Lead effective rehearsals and coordinate seasonal services, special events, and churchwide gatherings.

·       Manage worship schedules, communications, budgets, equipment, and resources with creativity and faithful stewardship.

·       Collaborate across ministries and continually strengthen the worship ministry’s spiritual and practical effectiveness.

Additional Minister Responsibilities

If filled as Minister of Worship Ministry, the role will also contribute to pastoral leadership, care, discipleship, visitation, ordinances, weddings, funerals, and other authorized ministry needs in coordination with the Senior Pastor.

What We’re Looking For

·       A growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a life marked by biblical faithfulness, humility, integrity, and servant leadership.

·       A clear call to ministry and wholehearted support for the doctrine, mission, values, and leadership of First Baptist Church Americus.

·       A bachelor’s degree in worship ministry, music, theology, ministry, or a related field; seminary, theological, or formal musical training is preferred.

·       Proven worship leadership and service-planning experience, with the ability to develop volunteers and engage a congregation.

·       Strong musical, relational, organizational, communication, and administrative skills, with discretion and dependable follow-through.

·       Successful completion of background and reference checks.

Position Details

This is a full-time role with regular evening and weekend responsibilities and occasional approved travel.

Salary: $48,000–$52,000 annually, based on education and experience.
