Position Overview

Faith Baptist Church is prayerfully seeking a biblically qualified man to serve as our next full time Senior Pastor. We are an independent, fundamental Baptist church committed to the authority of Scripture, the preaching and teaching of God’s Word, evangelism, discipleship, missions, and the ministry of the local church.

The Senior Pastor will serve as an under-shepherd of the Lord Jesus Christ, faithfully providing spiritual and pastoral leadership to our congregation of almost 400 members and regular attenders (average Sunday attendance of 275–300). Our church's heartbeat and mission are centered around "Loving God, Loving People." The ideal candidate will demonstrate a clear testimony of salvation, a genuine call to Gospel ministry, sound doctrine, godly character, a servant’s heart, and a deep love for people.

Primary Responsibilities

• Preaching & Teaching: Faithfully preach and teach the Word of God, rightly dividing the word of truth.

• Spiritual Leadership: Provide biblical direction, promote unity, and oversee the ministries and business affairs of the church in accordance with its Constitution and By-Laws.

• Pastoral Care: Shepherd the congregation, provide biblical counseling, and offer compassionate care during times of illness, bereavement, and crisis.

• Staff & Ministry Oversight: Provide leadership, encouragement, and accountability to church staff, deacons, trustees, and ministry leaders.

• Evangelism & Missions: Lead and encourage the church in local community outreach while strengthening our commitment to world missions through Faith Promise Missions Giving.

• Ordinances & Functions: Conduct weddings, funerals, baptisms, the Lord’s Supper, and moderate church business meetings as required.

Qualifications & Expectations

• Biblical Standards: Must meet the scriptural qualifications set forth in 1 Timothy 3:1–7, Titus 1:5–9, and 1 Peter 5:1–4.

• Doctrinal Alignment: Must review, affirm, and defend the church’s Statement of Faith, Constitution, By-Laws, and historic Independent Baptist distinctives.

• Leadership Style: Proven ability to lead and mentor future Christian leaders with humility and a servant's heart, without being domineering.

• Family Testimony: A faithful personal and family life consistent with scripture. A supportive family testimony is vital, though the church honors the family's independence and does not automatically employ family members.

Note: While formal theological education and years of ministry experience are highly valued, they are not substitutes for biblical qualification, spiritual maturity, and the calling of God. Candidates with varying backgrounds who meet our Independent Baptist criteria and demonstrate proven ministry effectiveness are welcome to apply.

Compensation and Benefits

A competitive compensation and benefits package commensurate with experience will be offered. Financial details will be discussed with the qualified candidate at the appropriate stage of the pastoral search process. The salary range is $75,000-$115,000.
