Minister of Students and Connection

Mt. Carmel Baptist Church is seeking a full-time Minister of Students and Connection to lead ministry to students (grades 6–12) and help people of all ages connect meaningfully into the life of the church. This role exists to help students, families, guests, and members take clear next steps in Christ and become fully engaged in the body of Christ.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: STUDENT MINISTRY – 75%

•       Lead and oversee ministry to students ages 11–18.

•       Build intentional relationships with students and families.

•       Teach the Bible faithfully, clearly, and relevantly.

•       Recruit, train, and encourage adult volunteers.

•       Plan and lead weekly gatherings, events, camps, and mission opportunities.

•       Actively engage in the community and schools of students (academic, arts, and sports events) as permitted by the school district.

•       Communicate regularly with parents and church leadership.

•       Develop an annual ministry plan and work within the approved budget.

•       Help students participate in worship, serving, and the broader life of the church.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITY: CONNECTION & NEXT STEPS – 25%

•       Create clear pathways to help guests, new believers, and members take next steps in Christ. This role helps people move from attending - belonging - serving - growing.

•       Oversee guest follow-up and help individuals connect into groups, serving, and ministries.

•       Collaborate with staff to build systems that welcome, track, and shepherd people well.

•       Support connection environments such as new member opportunities and connection events.

•       Build relationships with families and help them connect meaningfully into church life.

•       Share stories of life change and involvement to encourage engagement.

•       Oversee and personally help manage the church’s social media presence, collaborating with current staff and volunteers for those ministry accounts/pages.

•       Other assigned responsibilities (as needed) assigned by the Lead Pastor.

QUALIFICATIONS

•       A growing Christian faith and clear calling to ministry.

•       Passion for teaching students in biblical truth.

•       Bachelor’s degree required.

•       Minimum of 2 years of experience in student ministry (paid or volunteer).

•       Previous experience leading teams a plus.

•       Excellent organizational and communication skills required.

•       Agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message (2000) and a traditional Southern Baptist, non-Reformed view of salvation as well as non-Reformed practices.

•       Ability to pass a complete employment background and credit check.

COMPENSATION

$52,500 (Possible parsonage housing available with a signed housing agreement required)
