We're Hiring: Associate Pastor

New Community Church | Lawton, Michigan

New Community Church is seeking a passionate, Spirit-filled Associate Pastor who loves Jesus, loves people, and desires to see lives transformed through the power and presence of God. The ideal candidate will demonstrate godly character, spiritual maturity, strong biblical knowledge, and a genuine heart for shepherding others, and be led by Holy Spirit. Working closely with the Senior Pastor and ministry leadership team, the Associate Pastor will help provide spiritual leadership through consistent biblical preaching, teaching, discipleship, pastoral care, and leadership development. This individual will help cultivate a church culture rooted in God's Word, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and committed to equipping believers to grow in their faith, discover their spiritual gifts, and live out the Great Commission.

Responsibilities include preaching regularly, assisting with worship services and ministry planning, providing pastoral care and prayer, mentoring and developing leaders, supporting discipleship opportunities and small groups, and actively engaging with the church family and surrounding community. The Associate Pastor will also collaborate with church leadership to support ministry operations, maintain healthy communication, and help carry out the overall vision and mission of New Community Church. We are looking for someone who leads with humility, integrity, accountability, and a servant's heart; is approachable and relational; and demonstrates a consistent personal life of prayer, presence, worship, and devotion to God's Word.

Required Qualifications

• Spirit-filled believer with a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a deep love for God's Word, and an active dependence on the Holy Spirit.
• Godly character and spiritual maturity, demonstrating the biblical qualifications for church leadership outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:6–9, along with the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22–23.
• Theological education: Minimum of 1–2 years of master's-level theological studies completed, with a demonstrated commitment and plan to complete a master's degree in theology, divinity, or a related field.
• Pastoral experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of pastoral ministry experience, including consistent preaching and biblical teaching responsibilities.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to disciple, mentor, and equip others.
• Alignment with New Community Church's beliefs, mission, vision, and commitment to Spirit-led ministry.
• A teachable spirit, emotional maturity, commitment to accountability, and ability to work collaboratively with church leadership.

Reporting Structure: The Associate Pastor will report directly to the Senior Pastor and work in partnership with the church's leadership team.
