FAMILY IN CHRIST CHURCH:
Family in Christ Community Church (FIC), located in Westminster, Colorado, is a welcoming multi-generational congregation centered on the gospel, community, and service. QUALIFICATIONS:
● Spiritual Devotion: A clear understanding of the Gospel as expressed in scripture and a strong personal faith in Jesus Christ, exemplifying Christian maturity and love for God in alignment with the Family in Christ Community Church Statement of Faith.
● Musical Proficiency: A developed skill set consisting of musical expertise, the desire and ability to create fresh expressions of Biblical worship, a commitment to preparing and leading musical groups on stage, and a devotion to ongoing professional growth. The individual must be proficient as a vocalist and lead instrumentalist.
● Technical Proficiency: Comprehensive knowledge of the technical aspects of worship, including familiarity with personnel management applications (Church Planning Center) and presentation software (ProPresenter), stage lighting, sound board, live streaming, and associated technologies.
● Leadership: Proficiency as it relates to worship leadership in administration, logistics, and event planning, while maintaining a commitment to aesthetics, accountability, and timeliness. Dedication to recruiting, training, and developing skills and community among staff, musicians, and volunteers.
● Communication: The ability to collaborate and communicate effectively to support the church’s many ministries and a willingness to participate in regular and annual learning, evaluation, and planning cycles, and be open to constructive feedback.
● Experience: Three or more years of experience in worship ministry.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
● Meet and collaborate regularly with the Senior Pastor and other ministry leaders to coordinate each aspect of Sunday services, worship events, and church-wide programs.
● Attend and participate in weekly staff meetings, contributing to the development of church life and investing in the development of the Lift Student Ministries worship leader.
● Provide vision, brainstorming, production management, and implementation of creative ideas.
● Recruit and manage worship/music and technical volunteers, providing pastoral care and encouraging spiritual formation of the worship arts teams.
● Direct, develop, and nurture vocal and instrumental music and teams during rehearsal, weekly services, and special events.
● Supervise and provide regular audition opportunities for instrumentalists and vocalists.
● Provide leadership, training, and direction for the technical support ministries such as sound, video, lighting, YouTube live streaming, podcast, and multimedia presentation teams.
● Commit to continuing professional and spiritual development, which may include participation in local worship conferences/events and developing a network of local musicians and artists.
● Prepare, review, and maintain assigned annual budgets.
● Other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
CONDUCT:
The Worship Arts Pastor will have access to sensitive and confidential information, including counseling situations and other private matters. It is absolutely essential that all personal information encountered in this role is treated with the utmost confidentiality and respect in accordance with Colorado's mandatory reporting requirements. The Worship Arts Pastor will exhibit wisdom and maturity in maintaining appropriate relational boundaries with all persons at all times. Any offer of employment will be contingent upon the candidate’s satisfactory completion of a required background check.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to freely move throughout the church and grounds and be involved in job-related activities; ability to read various forms and information; ability to accurately hear and communicate in-person and over the telephone; ability to lift, push, and maneuver up to 30 pounds (ministry event supplies).
Position may involve working at heights using ladders or a motorized lift.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND EQUIPMENT USED:
Work is performed within church buildings and grounds and may involve select off-site events. The
Worship Arts Pastor must be able to effectively utilize various job-related equipment such as
computers, staging materials, and technical audio and visual equipment, including cameras, lighting,
and amplification/sound systems, as well as associated software, media applications, printers, and
photocopiers. Evening and weekend hours will be required for the position.
