Job Description

Youth and Worship Director

Full-Time | On-Site | Sunday–Thursday

Salary: $53,000–$60,000 per year

Benefits: No health benefits provided

Position Summary

The Youth and Worship Director will provide leadership, vision, and hands-on oversight for both the student ministry and worship ministry of the church. This person will disciple students, build and lead volunteer teams, plan and execute weekly ministry environments, and help cultivate a Christ-centered, Spirit-filled culture across both areas of ministry. The ideal candidate is spiritually mature, highly relational, organized, able to lead from the front, and committed to building people, not just running programs.

Youth Ministry Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, vision, and oversight for the church’s student ministry for middle and high school students.
  • Plan, organize, and lead weekly youth gatherings, Bible studies, discipleship environments, events, retreats, and outreach opportunities.
  • Teach God’s Word in a clear, biblically sound, relevant, and engaging way.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and develop volunteer leaders to serve effectively in youth ministry.
  • Build a healthy ministry culture that helps students grow spiritually, relationally, and in service to others.
  • Provide pastoral care, spiritual guidance, mentorship, and prayer support to students.
  • Communicate consistently and clearly with parents and families.
  • Help create a ministry environment that is safe, welcoming, organized, and aligned with church policies and leadership expectations.
  • Work with church staff to align youth ministry with the overall vision and direction of the church.
  • Model a Christ-centered lifestyle and demonstrate a genuine love for students and families.

Worship Ministry Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, vision, and oversight for the worship ministry of the church.
  • Lead worship during weekly services with strong vocal ability, musical skill, spiritual sensitivity, and stage leadership.
  • Select songs and service elements that align with the vision of the church, the message being preached, and the leading of the Holy Spirit.
  • Lead and organize weekly rehearsals with preparation, excellence, and a pastoral heart.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and develop worship team volunteers, including vocalists and musicians.
  • Help cultivate a worship culture marked by authenticity, unity, excellence, and congregational engagement.
  • Work collaboratively with pastors, staff, and production volunteers to plan meaningful, Spirit-led services.
  • Maintain worship charts, tracks, setlists, and related planning tools in an organized and timely way.
  • Steward the worship ministry budget, equipment, and resources responsibly.
  • Stay current with modern worship music and ministry trends while remaining grounded in biblical truth and the culture of the church.

Required Qualifications

  • A born-again believer with a clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ.
  • Demonstrates spiritual maturity, personal integrity, humility, and a consistent walk with the Lord.
  • Strong agreement with a Spirit-filled church environment and belief in the gifts of the Holy Spirit as taught in Scripture.
  • Proven ability to lead worship vocally in front of a congregation.
  • Proven ability to teach and disciple middle and high school students.
  • Experience recruiting, training, and leading volunteer teams.
  • Strong relational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Able to work well within a team, receive feedback, and support the overall vision of the church.
  • Organized, dependable, and able to follow through on planning, communication, and execution.
  • Willing to lead both structured services and spontaneous Spirit-led moments with wisdom and maturity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in both youth ministry and worship ministry.
  • Experience in a modern, non-denominational, Spirit-filled church environment.
  • Ability to play guitar or keys while leading worship.
  • Familiarity with Planning Center, MultiTracks/Playback, ProPresenter, or similar ministry tools.
  • Experience building ministry systems, volunteer culture, and leadership pathways.

Position Expectations

  • This is an on-site role and requires consistent in-person availability Sunday through Thursday.
  • This position requires active participation in the life and ministry of the church.
  • Weekend, evening, and special event availability is required.
  • The candidate must be able to lead worship from the platform with confidence and maturity.
  • The candidate must be able to lead worship vocally, not only support or coordinate worship behind the scenes.
  • The candidate must be comfortable ministering in a Spirit-filled church culture and serving in alignment with the beliefs and ministry environment of the church.

Weekly Expectations

  • Present and leading on Sundays and midweek student ministry gatherings.
  • Participating in regular staff meetings, ministry planning, rehearsals, and church events.
  • Investing in students, volunteers, and leaders through discipleship and relationship-building.
  • Maintaining timely communication, preparation, and follow-through in both ministry areas.
  • Supporting the overall mission, vision, and ministry culture of the church.
