
Position Summary
NorthPark Church in Meridian, MS is seeking a full-time Associate Pastor for Worship and Spiritual Life to provide leadership in the areas of corporate worship and discipleship ministries. This position is responsible for planning and leading worship services that engage the congregation through the arts of music, drama, technology, and the spoken word, while also overseeing key spiritual formation ministries.
Worship Responsibilities
· Be the primary leader and director of the worship ministry of the church, pursuing excellence in all you do, modeling a heart of worship, and displaying a humble attitude of teachability and teamwork.
· Recruit, train, and shepherd volunteers involved in worship ministries at all levels.
· Plan, coordinate, and lead meaningful weekly worship services in collaboration with other musicians, vocalists and tech volunteers and the pastoral team.
· Utilize music, drama, media, technology, Scripture, etc. to create Christ-centered worship experiences.
· Assist in planning special services (holiday events, church-wide events, funerals, community events, etc.).
Spiritual Life Responsibilities
· Provide leadership and oversight for NorthPark’s discipleship ministries, especially Sunday School and Life Groups.
· Recruit, equip, train, and encourage group leaders and teachers.
· Support and shepherd leaders through regular communication, coaching, and pastoral care.
· Help develop strategies to develop more and better groups/classes to further disciple the congregation.
· Assist in connecting new members into groups and ongoing spiritual formation opportunities.
Team Collaboration and Church-Wide Responsibilities
· Serve as a collaborative member of the overall ministry staff, supporting church-wide goals and initiatives.
· Partner with other pastors and ministry leaders on special projects, events, and seasonal emphases.
· Be an occasional part of the Sunday teaching team.
· Provide pastoral care as needed, including counseling support, hospital visits, and member encouragement.
· Support the Lead Pastor in broader ministry responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
· A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a life marked by spiritual maturity, humility, and integrity.
· A demonstrated calling to pastoral ministry and worship leadership in the local church.
· Experience leading worship services and working with worship teams, technology, and creative elements.
· Ability to train and shepherd volunteer leaders in both worship and discipleship settings.
· Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
· Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (ministry, worship leadership, theology, music, or related area).
